Was gailey\'s Contract Rolled Over For Another Year?

Read where Hewitt got the raise & they mentioned that his contract has been rolled over another year... (additional year added to maintain original length) which has been done every year since he's been at Tech...

How 'bout gailey?... Was his contract rolled the additional year after last year? Anyone know?

BB: Hadn't heard or read anything to that affect. Don't think so though!

Re: Was gailey\'s Contract Rolled Over For Another Year?

MsTA.. that would be huge if they hadn't rolled him over, wouldn't it?? Just 'cause we haven't heard anything tho, doesn't mean it hasn't been done... Altho, I posted the question on the hive & the screws freaked out, immediately moving in with 20 lashes on the bare back.... Where there's smoke, there's fire!!!

Any mice out there know the answer?

Ask ylojk8, he's so far up Gailey's rear end that maybe he's heard something.

Re: Was gailey\'s Contract Rolled Over For Another Year?

If I was a betting man, I would bet it had not been rolled over. Why would you deliberately cause more trouble rolling his contract over another year when there is a lot of turmoil in the system.

I would also be willing to bet it makes no difference to Gailey. If I was the AD, and knew there was a lot of turmoil, I personally would talk it over with Gailey to see if it made any difference to him.

If I was in Gailey's position, it would not make any difference to me. If I thought I was good enough to coach our boys to a winning season, I would figure the rest would take care of itself.

If we call him on the toll free number will he be able to explain to us what muggle born & mudblood mean?

Re: Was gailey\'s Contract Rolled Over For Another Year?

Ahso, I'd have to agree.. Probably wouldn't help recruiting if it hadn't been rolled over & was broadcast... It probably is public knowledge somewhere, tho...

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I dearly love Tech, but if I was Gailey I would get the Hell out of Dodge if I had a successful season, especially if we had a 9-3 or 10-2 season. That way he could hear all of the people that are whining to get him fired whining about him leaving us. Our recruiting is probably hurt worse by our own internal strife than it would be by expressing confidence in our coach with a rollover. Don't think for one minute that the turmoil in our fan base over our head coach and the need for many to constantly call for his firing does not get back to our recruits. I know many recruits line solidly up for a team early, but I have a feeling that those teetering on the fence could be pushed to the other side by opposing coaches at the mention of the precarious position our coach finds himself in with our mostly unappreciative fan base.

How about reading "Focused on Top" by Jack Wilkinson one more time. If you dont think every message board is any different then you need to wake up and smell the coffee. Unappreciative fan base? For getting smoked by UGA worse than any coach in history? Getting beat by a pathetically thin Fresno St. team? Averaging 14 points a game our last 4 games? That's ok though because you definitely have to give him another year to prove last year was an anomaly and that he was a pledge. I would never assume things would even out like he was quoted but this year is important to the moral of the fan base at GT. That is fair. But DB has had almost 7 years and even offered his resignation as he put so publicly in the paper. Get that fixed and we can deal with Gailey later if need be.

The people wanting changes have done so privately, where it doesnt end up in the papers. And probably the biggest target has been DB not Gailey at this point. So I naturally you assumed you were commenting on what you were reading here. By the way, did you visit Nebraska's board this past year? Or Florida's last year?

Re: Was gailey\'s Contract Rolled Over For Another Year?

I think, as far as GT is concerned, this practice started with Curry and has pretty much been the standard for FB & BB coaches since then.
