Was just reviewing the stats from Saturday...

Not good.

One of the things I have enjoyed under gailey coached teams is the lack of penalties...however, that also came with a lack of excitement and/or points.

This has been a problem all year. We're currently ranked 104 in the nation in penalties, with 8 penalties for 69 yards per game.

We were offsides on defense like 3 or 4 times. (One was declined because they gained about 40 on the play.)

The Army QB must have been doing something tricky - we haven't been offsides much this year.

On the play you mentioned, Wheeler got pushed offsides by another LB trying to blitz up the same gap. I'm not really sure why they were both trying to hit the same hole - even if one was faking.

Also, WTF is with the chop block call when we were kicking off? How does the kicking team get called for a blocking foul?

HaHa!! I was thinking the same thing! I didn't see a replay on the jumbo-tron. Anyone catch it on TV? I may have to watch the replay tomorrow night to find out.

It's on SportSouth right now.

Radio said that officials are starting to call penalties on kicking teams who dive into the wedge, just to break it up. That's what Wes and Note said on the broadcast.

OK - I guess I'll buy that. It should be called "tripping" or something though.

Army does do a great job on that wedge.

Van Note commented on that. He said that rolling into the wedge is a penalty, but that nobody ever calls it. (except when Tech does it apparently)
