Was this anybody else's first victory over UGA?

I didn't follow GT when I was in high school; I was more of a Falcons guy. I only became a big fan of Tech once I was accepted and began my freshman year in 2003. My first live game as a Tech fan was that glorious Auburn game.. I didn't even have a student ticket, I had to buy one from a scalper for $40...needless to say it was an amazing game, and I was hooked.

Anyway, just like the rest of you I lived through some very agonizing losses to Georgia. However, unlike the rest of you I was an equipment manageer for the team during my last 3 years at Tech (05-07), so I got to witness these painful losses to UGA up close and personal. I was 15 feet away from Tim Jennings when he intercepted Reggie's pass to end the game in 2005 (there's a picture of it somewhere and I'm standing on the sideline with my hands on my head).

Long story short, I've never known what it feels like to beat UGA until now. And I must say it doesn't feel nearly as good as the losses feel bad, but it sure is satisfying.

Thanks, Coach Johnson. (and Josh, and Jon, and Roddy, and the seniors, and D-Rad, and everybody)

This was my first win also.

It feels just as good as the losses feel bad to me.

same scenario here. auburn was first game. hated ugag since freshman year.

this was sweet...

I was there in '98 and '00 when we beat them in Athens.

But this one is extra sweet considering UGA was pre-season #1.

More or less, wasnt really a fan of a particular college team during High School days though I had some GT family, enrolled in '01. It was far far far too long.

This was my first. I was a semi-Tech fan in middle school and the beginning of high school (HS class of '04) but didn't follow them at all aside from having a few random pieces of Tech merch. I just knew I was going to go there for undergrad, then I found a better fit for me (Rose-Hulman Inst. of Tech.).

Ironically I became a die-hard Tech fan at my undergrad, 500 miles removed from BDS. I suppose part of it was attending a D3 school in the middle of nowhere and part of it was that it gave me a "piece of home" rooting for the Jackets throughout the year.

Now that I've got my B.S. I'm fully enjoying actually being a student at Tech for grad school, and I was so excited Saturday words cannot describe it.

I started in Spring 01. I had a front row seat for the Era of the Equation. I got pneumonia in 2003 camping out for UGA tickets. I was more upset over the loss.

I was always afraid that I'd be the type of person who would be more upset after a loss to UGA then happy after a win. But I learned something, I'm not. Thank you Paul Johnson.

Beating Georgia this weekend was like the first warm day of spring, after a long dark bitter winter. Except winter is coming back.

I was in Athens in 84 to watch the end of a 6 game Ugag streak, this game was almost as good watching on TV from central Fl...........I'm glad you finally got one. There will be plenty more.

This was also my first. It would be nice to see this become the first of the new longest win streak.

Started in 2001, I had been to GT baseball camp 2 years in a row, and was kinda partial but didn't really keep up with it. Made a bet against the biggest @$$ hole in my school that GT would take UGA that year. I never got to say it my entire highschool career. There just weren't many GT fans at my school, so once everyone knew I was a GT fan I got rocked all four years.

Saturday at about 4:30 it made it all up. I was happy my first win came.

I have a six-year-old son who has become an avid tech fan the past couple of years. This was the first time we've beaten UGAg since he's been alive.

Not my first win, but I remember understand why it was Clean Old Fashioned Hate after driving back up from home in 1997.

It was my first, and I am so glad that I got to be there to witness it. The best part of my day was when we went up 35-28. I had a GT flag, and I held it up and started cheering. There was an old lady, who was a U(sic)GA fan, sitting next to me and next to her was another GT fan. The GT fan grabbed the other side of my flag and we start cheering and waving the flag. When we did this we pretty much completely blocked this ladies view of everything. She got really mad and looked like she was going to cry. After we kicked the extra point, I folded my flag back up and said, "Sorry, I blocked your view. In case you missed it, we are now winning 35-28." She left with about 5 minutes left in the 4th. Awesome stuff.

Not my first. I believe that the first win I saw was in '88. I could be wrong about the year though. All I remember is Jerry Mays running all over UGAg. All the kids in the neighborhood were UGAg fans and that was the day I became a GT fan.

Last time I was in middle school and yep I loved the jackets even back then!!!
