Game thread closed but I just got to say it.

Our program is not in a bad place yet. We have a Great Coach who has a Great Contract. PJ has given us at least 3 Great seasons out of 7. No other season was horrible, maybe you could put a Christmas trip to Shreveport as horrible for the players, but it was not a horrible season.

I am looking forward to beating the Mutts in BDS. All will be good on earth.

Grwat points.

We had life, even with 1:04 left. JT throwing darts. Was 2 of 6 but hit 2 recievers in the hands who dropped the ball.

We win that game if not for the targeting call. We are just too thin at DT.

BS, JT5 has been throwing worse this year than last. The last pass INT is probably his longest throw of the year. Those check down passes leading up to it were crap. I don't know if it was JT5 or the WRs not getting separation near the sideline, but the dink and dunk passes at the end did nothing but kill clock

The pass to Stewart was nice, but unfortunately he touched down in bounds and we lost quite a bit of time.

Yeah, the Stewart pass was unfortunate. But the other passes were better off dropped (which one was).

If IFs and BUTs were candy and nuts then the world would never go hungry. I'm tired of this öööö. We did not get it done. These players need to play with some fire and the coaches need to put them in better places to succeed. Let's quit giving these losers a free pass. Their lack of effort and bonehead mistakes by both players and the coaching staff are indefensible.

We are absolutely in a bad place right now. PJ is not a great coach. He is a brilliant football tactician, but cannot reach his players like the great coaches can. This is turning out to be pretty obvious now. In years where we have a player or players who can be strong on the field coaches or leaders, we can apply his tactical brilliance the way he wants it done, but otherwise, we are out of sorts. We'd still be fine most of the time if we could out-talent the other team, but that's not usually going to be the case here.

I'm going to always cherish what we managed to do that second half of last season, because that was pretty special, but that's obviously an outlier. Outside of those couple of months, we have consistently shown what kind of program we are over the last 5 years.

Totally disagree. We have not had QB pressure vs FBS QB all year, and today would have been no different.

The bigger difference maker was the drop interception for TD.

After 3 weeks it appears the punting game is of no concern one way or the other.

A 21 - 0 lead vs a team that lost to USC-e is not enough, so all we can do is go for it on every 4th down (hopefully not a dive up the middle every time) but amplify on some of the good O things we did today.

CPJ came here with not much emphasis on ST or D, so it is his to do or die with.

And just enjoy being at Grant Field watching our guys and being with friends

Over the past 40 years our seasons have been more likely to be like 2007 or 2012. CPJ has delivered some of the best tech football we have seen on the flats since Dodd. I really don't understand how people could experience the best season since 1990 last year and then call him a shitty coach this year considering the youth and injuries.

I never called him shitty, or anywhere close that that level. What I am calling him is a more fun Chan Gailey outside of his first 2 years and the last 2 months of last season. Basically, PJ has been able to win 3 or 4 big games that Chan never could. Neither am I calling to be fired, because that is out of the question, too. We are stuck right now, and stuck is a bad place to be.

öööö you, I'm drunk, I'm at the O, and Go Jackets

My comments were not particularly directed at you. I edited my post to reflect the general negativity of some fans. If people can't handle seasons like this they should root for Alabama or Ohio State.

My mistake then. And I agree... this part of being a Georgia Tech fan. I root for Tech because of what the school represents, not because of the sports teams. I just don't think there is any point in trying to pretend problems don't exist, and we shouldn't be shy about discussing them in a civilized manner.

Sure. But blaming everything on CPJ is not practical. We have 14 players on the two deep that are out for one reason or another. We had walk ons playing significant time today. We caught some really bad luck this season.
