Did you notice on 3rd and 6 late in the 4th quarter when we had the lead that we actually passed and got a first down?

That was a risky call for Chan...

That first down allowed us to run the remaining time off the clock.

11. If the game comes down to the same as Maryland I bet we take a shot this time. What do you think?

Thats what I put in my report. If we wouldnt of been able to get that first down I would of had doubts if we were gonna win that game.

Do you think it was because he meddled less with the offense this game?

I hear what you're saying, but last week and this week were quite different situations. In one game we were ahead, the other behind. In last week's game there was a little more than a minute left in the game, in this week's game there was almost two and a half minutes left.

I think the playcalls were solid in each case, and remember it is always easier call a play after the fact. ;)

I think the biggest difference between last week and this week was a) we didn't dig as deep of a hole in the 1st half, and b) we executed almost perfectly in the 4th quarter to close the deal.

Have a nice weekend guys...Mike

IMO, it was actually riskier against Miami than against MD on that 3rd and 20 play because against Miami we had a lot more to lose.

A 3rd and 20 draw play is NOT a solid call. You set your kicker up to lose.

Its still about controlling your own destiny, this week we went for it to secure the win, last week if we went for it then we could of secured the win, we didnt even try.

If the draw gets the 6 to 8 yards it got all day, we hit the field goal and win the game, then it's a solid call. We hit the long field goal, and it's a good call. We miss the field goal and now it isn't? Sorry, I'm not ready to second guess that one.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Have a nice weekend! I'm goin' fishin'...Mike

Previous 3 plays were stuffed runs up the middle and Bennett was 4-5 on the drive. You still pick a running play up the middle?

Last post of the afternoon....

It was a brilliant call. After all, who would have thought we'd run it 4 times up the middle? ;)

Here's the bottom line: You're in field goal range for the winning field goal. The smart play is to play for the field goal, and keep the clock running, even if the field goal is a long one. Doesn't make fans happy, but it wins games.

Here's hoping fish are biting...Mike

You've been siged.

A f-ing screen would have been safe, high-percentage and could have picked up 10-15. TB could have easily avoided a sack by throwing it away, TC if covered the ball could have been thrown away and if it was open who know how long he would have been running.
