I wouldn't call opting not to outbid SMU "striking out," necessarily, depending on how much they offered. I'm sure we offered PJ, and our offer was what we felt he was worth.

I think our offer was probably what we felt PJ was worth, relative to our other options. I think PJ is a good coach, but I don't think he is 1 million/yr better than Tenuta. Or 500k/yr better than Tenuta + a $500k offensive coordinator.
