We have stopped trying

They gave up for sure in the 4th after Spillers Juke TD, but I can't really blame them. I gave up too.

Clemson's last drive after the interception, when all hope became truly lost, was a three and out, including a loss of 4 yards.

The defense became tired, but they did not quit.

I didn't see anybody quit out there last night. We got punched in the mouth, whooped and flat out beat - but they did not give up.

I tell ya man, Reggie quit shortly after getting roughed up on a run in the 1H. If he ever even saw purple coming at all, even if it was mild pressure, he'd quit looking downfield and start his Richard Pryor routine.

Even when he aludes an oncoming rusher he never looks back up to find a receiver. Guys, when someone melts down like this you've got to get him out of the game to regain his composure. It doesn't matter if the backup is worse. And I find it hard to believe the backup is that bad. I have seen him play.

I don't think Reggie quit but I think he was "confused." The must have been throwing a D at him that he had never seen and was not prepared to handle.

If Reggie cannot win the game for us I do not believe we have a player on the roster that could play better.

What has made our offense look better this year is Reggie's ability to run. If you take that away our offense would stop, that is the problem w/ Nix's Offense. It is NOT interchangeable.

lawB, how bad does it have to be before you sub? Would you leave Reggie on the field with crutches because he was the "better QB in practice".

At some point, #2 is better than #1. That's what coaching is all about. Knowing when to adjust and make changes.

There was nothing Reggie saw that he hasn't seen before. For whatever reason, injury?, he wasn't willing to stay in and take the hit in the pocket to get the pass off. In our one drive, when he set his feet and stepped into his throw he was able to get the ball downfield. Other than that though, he didn't give plays time to develop.

How bad of an injury does R. Ball have?

I notice him appearing to just about fall into his own grave once, only to scramble and run the ball the next play, after which he jumped up and ran on back to the huddle.

I was wondering if he were doing a sales job on Clemson so they wouldn't think he would run the ball afterwards.

Reggie did not quit, but I wish we'da benched him.

As I said in another thread, Reggie is our best option at QB for two reasons: 1) Arm Strength (downfield passing) and 2) Speed.

If he's got an injury that effects his ability to throw deep balls and scramble quickly, then he's worthless to us and needs to sit down.
