39-3. Wow, we got dominated in every phase of the game and it showed. It showed big time! Reggie finally played like a freshman. Our line played like it was illegal to use your hands. Our defense broke and did not bend.

I am absolutely and utterly shocked to see us blown out, manhandled, and thoroughly embarrased at Bobby Dodd Stadium. After last week, I couldn't have been more proud. Now, I couldn't be more disgusted and disappointed. We quit in the second half. Playcalling sucked. Where's Bilbo? 3 and 5 steps drops don't work. Roll Reggie out of the pocket. Go no huddle down 25-3. Maybe we could have played better if I was the coach tonight. I am pulling for Chan to succeed here, but right now it's his head if things don't get better.
Get pissed off, show some pride, and improve. We definitely took bacward steps tonight. How do you get booed off the field after a 23-3 first half, and then come back with your head between your legs and get beat 16-0 in the second half?

Prediction: GT 27, Vandy 19. Win this one or the wheels come off. I'll be watching on PPV, hope the $30 is worth it.

I will not be a fair weather fan. I sat in my seats tonight until the last play. I refuse to give up on this team and its potential. Now, I have to just hope for 9-3. It won't happen, but dad gummit my glass is gonna try to be half full.

Great post. I agree with everything but one - Bilbo.

If Bilbo was ready to be on the field, I'm confident that he would be. Gailey saw that Landry was ready last year to play safety and put him in. He saw that Hollings was ready to play tailback last year and put him in. If and when Bilbo is ready, we will see him on the field.

seems to me like none of the players were ready, even chan said it himself in the AJC. he said that he didnt have them prepared. so it woudnt hurt to bring in another un-ready player who actually wants to play.

Preach it brother.....

They can lose.....but I want to see them lose fighting like a team that is seriously pissed off, foaming at the mouth and ready the sting.

This team needs to play like they are demanding respect

How many times do have to hear Gailey explain how he did not have the team prepared or motivated? Let's get a coach that has our team prepared and motivated each week.

What's clear to me is that we have Tenuta to thank for the Auburn and FSU games. Chan Gailey's offense does not work. Everybody can talk about his past successes, but the folks at his last three stops have been pretty happy to see him leaving. I went to the Dolphins board after the hire and the general feeling was "thank god he's leaving maybe now we can get a good offensive coordinator".

There are so many hardcore GT fans that do not believe in Gailey. I mean longtime supporters who really want GT to be sucessful. When added to the number of alumni aleinated by Braine it makes for a very negative atmosphere.

Then there is recruiting where we are afraid to recruit anybody that might be interested in going to UGA, FSU, FLA, or TN because Gailey does not think we can compete with them in recruiting.

I have seen very little to be positive about with Gailey. Tenuta on the other hand is a very good coach. I truly believe he gets the most out of his players. I mean it has got to be hard to motivate guys to play hard when your offense is constantly selling you out with conservative play calling and not putting together drives to give you a rest.

We need to scrap this project and bring in someone we can all get behind. I just do not see how it is possible for the current regime to regain the confidence of our fan base. If Chan can't get longtime hardcore Tech fans behind him, how can we expect him to get indifferent recruits to commit to him.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">JTS you and I must have attended different games. Clemson's #38 Eric Sampson lived in the GT backfield. No one ever made an adjustment to stop him. Clemson consistly completed the long pass without any fear of being stopped. Their running game was very effective. The yardage was not great - 138 yards on 30 carries. However this translates to a 4.6 average per carry, good enough to beat almost any team.

JTS, I appreciate your reply and agree about the two missing players. My problem is the lack of adjustment to stop a single player who spent all afternoon in our backfield. Guess you and I are going to have to disagree on Tenuta.

I think it was Vince Lombardi that said something along the lines of "Fatigue makes cowards of us all" and that is what happened to our defense. We have some good football players at LB and DB, but we have no deph. We are a really good defense for a set number of plays after that there is no gas in the tank.

We need the offense to put together some drives to give the defense a chance to recuperate.

GMC 68,

I really beleive that Tenuta gets the most out of what we have. Clemson played to our weaknesses and I am sure Tommy got some pretty good recon from Bobby. We really missed Reis and Brezina from a team that did not have a lot of deph in the first place. The Clemson team is pretty much built specifically to beat the type of defense we are forced to play because of our personnel.

Major props to the Clemson OL. They bought Whitehurst and their WR the time to get the ball downfield.
