I am optimistic about this season and, playing them one at a time, I don't see a game we can't win. But, some realism has to set in when the poll is out and we have to try and beat 2 top 10's at home and three 11 through 18's on the road. A very good team, well coached, could go 7-5. I just hope that after any losses we will complain for a few hours and then realize what a tough schedule we have.
Those five games are big - but making sure we handle State, UVA, UNC, and Maryland is huge. Those are competitive games we have to have.
I look at us and State and realize that we could be both be 4-4 when we play in Raleigh. We could be 4-4 losing to all highly ranked teams and would have to have beaten Maryland and UVA. State could be 4-4 with assumed losses to Maryland and UVA. They would only have to beat Appalachian, Akron, S Miss, and Wake to get 4 W's.
I'm pulling for an undefeated season, but I recognize the task ahead is very difficult.
