We simple can not handle prosperity

Our Oline is the worst oline I've seen since 1994. That's no lie. Gilbert half the time is staring at our own endzone a second after the snap. Our tackles consistently miss their blockers, even when Gardner was playing. Our guards have no fight in them. Cord Howard looks like he's pass blocking when he's supposed to run block. Its pathetic on every level.

i am expecting big things from us next year. right now, I'm pretty happy to be bowl eligible

hey look, a hold on Gilbert. confirms what I said above. If he could actually block someone he wouldn't be facing our endzone. He's terrible.

It would be interesting to see the stats for games following our entry into the Top 25 the last few years. Seems to me that every time we sneak in, we lay a huge egg.

Why is our O-line going to be so much better next year?

I think that is at least 2 years away.

IIRC, CPJ said something about having some guys who are redshirts that could start now, that and we are recruiting OL men that fit this style of OF

We will have a lot more depth next year. But, I think you right.

A year is a lot of time to improve. I don't know how much harder it is on offensive linemen to learn and properly execute the option but I'd hope that they'd be better next August.

Well, we did have 326 yards rushing on the way to 424 total yards. They didn't play as bad as is being stated. But they didn't play well. We just killed ourselves with penalties and stupid plays. Those are the by-products of youth - and a crummy kicker.

I think the 1994 OLine was worse

The OL didn't muff a punt or fumble a ball. Clemson shows we can win despite them. We should not need our team to overcome a -2 or -3 turnover margin every game.

In 2007 we entered at #21 after we beat ND and then beat Samford 69-14. We moved up to #15 and lost to a BC team ranked #21. We never saw the Top 25 again.

In 2006 we entered at #24 after beating UVa at home and then beat VT in Blacksburg to move up to #18. We bounced around in teh Top 25 the rest of the season until Wake finally bounced us for good in the ACCCG.

In 2005 we entered at #17 after beating Auburn in the opener on TV. We defeated UNC 27-21 at home to move up to #16. We were ranked until NCSt handed us our 2nd consecutive loss on a Thursday night. We even remained in the Top 25 after VT beat us 51-7.

We moved back into #24 after beating Duke, Clemson, and Wake but were then bounced out by unranked UVa. We reentered at #20 after beating #3 Miami but then lost out to UGag and Utah.

We were not ranked in any of the other years that Chan Gailey was coach.

We'll get there, but anybody we are redshirting now needs game experience in the offense. A year of seasoning is to be expected.

Until we can have upperclassmen who have been in the program the whole time, we won't be reaching our potential.
