WF Has Faired Better Against Common Opponents*

WF will kick our hind end if we don't get after them and stay after them. I do believe we have a better team but WF doesn't believe that. I watched the game with BC/WF for a bit, and WF played some decent ball. If anyone were to think that game was a fluke, they need to think again.

I agree wid ja, Rome. We need to play a full game on both sides of the ball.

Wake's a very good football team, no doubt. I just like the way we match up with them.
Plus, even though I can't know what's going on in the heads of the team, I imagine that the clemmons win was a very significant kickoff to the start of the second half of the season.
I just have a feeling that the Jackets are coming to play.
There is a tremendous amount to play for the rest of the season. Getting EH back, and seeing the OL play P.O.d Saturday afternoon are very good indicators that we will see some very inspired football the month of November.

GO JACKETS...BUST THEIR ASS !

Yawn

Wake's 94th in pass defense... Reggie, CJ, Bilbo, JJ, Clark, etc. will have a UNC type passing game. Daniels and Choice will also top 160 yards combined.

No worries guys... Wake let Drew Weatherford pass for 395 yards and 3 TD's. If you haven't seen that kid play he's not a good QB yet.

Re: Yawn

Hopefully the oddsmakers know something about this one - We were only 3 point favorites against Clemson, but up to 8 against Wake. I'm a little surprised at the Wake spread, considering how we barely got by Clemson and didn't beat the spread in that one. Hopefully the fact that this would be the one to put us in another bowl game would be enough to motivate the team this week.

Sure wish we could find a way to get out of the gate fast - First half of the last four games have all been pretty ugly offense-wise. Wake isn't exactly known as a great defensive team, so hopefully we can come out a little stronger on offense (of course, Duke wasn't either and we kind of slept through that first half as well)

Re: Yawn

While I agree Wake is a dangerous team, the Grobe-worship on this board is sometimes slightly out of control.

Under Grobe, Wake is 4-12 in regular season games outside North Carolina, including 0-3 this year and 0-8 in their last 8.

If we lose to Wake at home, we will be an embarassing exception to a clear trend. (Of course, by losing to NC State we were as well.)

If we lose to Wake

I'd venture to say that Gailey's tenure is over.

Something did occur to me this morning as I was driving in... regardless of the outcome of Tech's season I think that Gailey may be gone anyway. Not by being fired but by being offered a NFL HC job. Think about it... Minnesota, New Orleans, St. Louis, & Baltimore all will be looking for new HC's. Others that may be looking are Arizona, San Fran, Green Bay, Houston, New York Jets (although it's not the coaches fault that every QB on the roster got hurt), & Buffalo.

Frankly I think there is a good chance Gailey could get snapped up by one of these teams as he is a stable guy and a good HC... so long as he hires an OC ;).

I wonder if he would try to get Tenuta to go with him though.

Re: If we lose to Wake

Bees.. no pro team has talked to Chan yet so what makes you think they would be interested in him now
I really do think he will "retire" for health reasons at the end of this year
But who am I to know ?

Re: If we lose to Wake

Because he was successful at the pro level

I bet every pro team would take a coach that will get his team to 1 game above .500 every year because that equals playoffs every year
