How absolutely surreal is that? Yeah, I'll beat ya'll all had this pegged as the ACC 'game of the day' back in August:grin: . The ACC's only unbeaten team:eek: , Wake Forest (5-0,1-0), is at home for Clemson (4-1,1-1) in what could throw the Deacons way up the ranking polls. In fact, a victory by the 'men in black' could roust out the truly big Bowl scouts to come see the Demon Deacs play their next gm @ NC St:biggthumpup: .
The implications of this Tigers @ Deacons game are almost unfathomable. Clemson would practically be eliminated from the ACC race, after beating Fla St & only playing 3 ACC gms! Wake For would be eyed
as a 'big game';) . It would be tremendous for the Deacons to win this game. What a story!

Wake has a typical Wake team to me. Until they actually play someone there's no telling how good they really are. They can beat Clemson, but I don't expect it. I'm really interested in what they do against a real offense and I don't think they will be able to move the ball effectively against Clemson's defense.

I just wonder how did Wake barely beat Duke when Virginia destroyed Duke yesterday. And how did Wake beat Ole Miss badly, who was barely beat by UGA. And how did UGA have trouble with Colorado, who was beat by Montana State, who was beat by Chaldron State.

Man, College Football is messed up this year.

Or just an indication people need to stop trying to apply the transitive property to college football...

The really silly thing is that it's concievable at this point to see GT vs Wake in Jacksonville.

That would be more than fine with me. It's payback time! A trip to the OB after beating the dorkin' demons would be appropriate.

Taking my post a bit too seriously. I do wonder though how Wake just beat Duke 13-10. They seem like a better team than Virginia or Richmond.

And this is why they call us NERDS.

That was Skinner's first start for Wake, after Mauk was injured in the opener.

I'm sure Duke gets up more for Wake than for those other teams.

Wake may also be susceptible to overlooking Duke, as we and others have done before.

I look forward to seeing the result of this game as I think it will be close but I just can't see Climpson losing to Wake. Although I would love for it to happen!

Unfortunately we have been there..........not prepared to play the game..... last years bowl game is the most recent that comes to my mind.

Keep in mind Wake has beaten Clemson 2 of the last 3.

Keep in mind that a major overhaul in game preparation and game day coaching has occurred. I am confident that we will not go into the funks that led to losses as long as things stay the "new" same.

I think the umd game will be uncomfortable because of the hangover effect. We will get the job done though.

I watched that Duke--Wake game and it wasn't a case of Wake playing poorly. Duke played some very good football that day......and only lost 14 to 13 when Wake blocked a last second field goal. However, Wake was playing with a RS freshman QB after losing their starter for the season with a broken arm.

They have since lost their top RB and their starting LT. Those are some serious losses for any team to overcome.

Yeah, I watched that game and thought that Duke would probably have a pretty good season. Whoops.

And the 3rd game was an OT game in which Clemson won due to a questionable pass interference call.
