imho-
1 and 2..This game is squarely on Tenuta to devise a Def to stop them.We have been vulnerable to the slants, screens, crossing patterns(see BYU).Not only devising schemes but getting the right folks on the field.
3.If our Off line can dominant with run game ,we can hold the ball, rest the D, and keep Clem out of a rhythm.
This of course assuming that either doesn't run back kick-offs and/or punts, fumble and fumble some more.

Mine are pretty much the same.

1) + turnover ratio
2) run the ball effectively
3) Pressure Whitehurst

I agree..

We have to run the ball.. and hold onto it.. no fumbles.. if we do this.. we will win the game..

I also expect lots of throws over the middle to take away pressure from the LB's.. the D Line has to step up and we have to have a great game from our DE's... if the DE's can put pressure on the QB.. it will help trememdously.. gotta have a big game from those guys.

1) Get the damn ball in the endzone! We've been close all year and stall in the red zone.

2) Get in Whitehurst's face and create turnovers and big plays on "D".

3) + turnovers <--- If we win this one I think we win for sure.

1 - Defensive backfield play (CB's especially)
2 - sustained drives that end in GT points

DB Tackling and 23 not letting em get behind him. THWG

We need to stop Derek Hamilton (and Justin Miller) on special teams.

We need Kenny Scott to really step up when they play him in our nickel package. He needs to rely more on his coaching than his talent. (I'm guessing he will be the guy.)

We need enough lead early to begin to play our younger players, especially our young linebackers and OL. (To stay fresh and to get them ready.)

Beesnut has it in a nut shell. Score more points than we allow Klemzun to score. It follows the "KISS" mgmnt philosophy. Non-Techies could have a problem with this.

First and foremost we got to get the ball in the endzone. Burnett has been great this year but I want him in there kicking extra points not field goals. I am not to impressed with Clemson's defense so far this year and I think we should be able to move the ball more. I want 200 yards passing and atleast a 100 yards on the ground. My feeling is we will see a simple game plan on offense.

We must get to Whitehurst on defense. I said last week that if we could get to Rix we would have a chance and I think that was one thing that hurt us was that we never sacked him. Henderson is the man and I hope he disrupts things all day. I am a little concerned about this no huddle business but I think our secondary is much improved and cna disrupt this and slow them down. Also Fox and Smith will again make big plays and I predict both of them to have double digits in tackles and a sack a piece. Not much of a prediction considering these guys

Special teams has made a big play in every game so far. I might as well say they will do it again! I think we get another blocked punt before the end of the year.

My biggest fear is that we have the lead at halftime and we don't make any adjustments for the second half. If the game ended at halftime this year we would be 3-0. Coaching needs to make sure we don't let this keep happening. Maybe we need to be down going into halftime.

Finally I have to agree that we need to score more points than the other team.

One simple key: GT has to want to win this game more than Clemson does - right now, I'm not too damn sure everyone in the GT org ascribes to this. Tech seems to be playing with a 3-4 year time frame in mind of incrementally getting good, a loss tomorrow then, doesn't mean a whole lot. Without putting this desire into action, though, we can forget it, because the Tigers will come out trying to kick ass and overpower us!

The team that comes out and stays fired up, and keeps their eye on the final goal of winning will be the victor. If GT comes out flat and runs successive three and out's, it'll be 1-3 for us.
