Every team has been stopping JD and the pitch and then the long pass. This leaves Josh Nesbitt to do everything on his own two feet. And unlike experienced QB's in PJ's offense, he has been hesitant to keep the ball often.
Today, maybe he's healthier, maybe he's more experienced, but he definitely keeps the ball more. PJ's QB's almost always led the team in carries and Josh is now approaching the same.
Defenses are soon to realize two big errors. One is that Josh is playing and running with confidence.
But the big one. Turnovers are down, down, down. Why? Because Josh keeps the ball in his own hands.
It will be very interesting to see what VPI does this weekend. It's looking more and more that PJ's offense, once purring, just isn't stopped by the defense. It's only been stopped by PJ's offense.
Will VPI make Josh do something other than keep the ball? This is the biggest factor in this game (unless of course our defense just can't make it at all.)
