What Frosh Redshirted

I belive the following played last year:

LB-Braman, Tucker
DE-Johnson
CB-Clark, Word-Daniels
TE-Peek
DT-Walker
K-Yahiuoui

Meaning that the following would have redshirted:

OL-Hill, Howard, Voss, Miller,Cox, Dunmon
S-Blackwood
WR-Smith, Frierson
QB-Garner
DE-Sellers

I believe this is a pretty good discrepancy. If a player will be playing for you soon then as a Coach you need to get them in there so they can get adjusted to the speed of the game. If there is a problem with picking up assignments then they can always be redshirted later on such as wheeler was.

Based on watching them play last year I fully expect Michael Johnson to be the 3rd DE this year, with Peek getting in the TE rotation as well as Vance Walker being in the DL rotation. Braman, Tucker, Word-Daniels, and Clark don't appear to be ready yet, and if they were we really wouoldn't have spots for them anyhow.

I thought Blackwood played some STs. Don't know for sure though.

Barnes was not a redshirt. He wasn't in school the first semester. He enrolled in January and has five years to play four with the upcoming season.

correct....I meant to say they would be part of the 2009 graduating class....not they were all redshirted.
