I have to give them a C

quality wins over BYU and NC

I would have expected at least one loss but the loss to Wake Forest AT HOME is unacceptable.

I think we have to go 4-2 in the second half of the season to have any type of good feelings about this year.

We play NCST, FSU and Ugag back to back to back.

and that is PRESUMING we can beat MD, VA, and DOOK.

this was not the game to lose.

I had predicted 11-1 for the season with a loss to Maryland at Maryland. Looking at it from that standpoint, I expected us to be undefeated headed into the Maryland game. I really expected Maryland to be undefeated at this time, so that tells you how accurate my forecasts are.

I studied the bios of all the new coaches and was greatly impressed with the new staff from that perspective. The only one I was not overly impressed with was O'Brien, but Gailey was supposed to be a shrewd offensive genius, so I thought everything would be fine there.

I was impressed with Tenuta's bio and past performances at Carolina and Ohio State. We had nine returning starters on a defense that had the makings of a great defensive team.

We had a slew of good to excellent QB candidates, and even redistrubuted some of them to other positions.

From all of the above my expectations were great, so from my perspective, I give the team a strong D at this time.

I give a C... had we won yesterday I would have said B... had we beaten Clemson... B+

The offense gets a D-
The defense gets a c+
The ST get a B-
The coaching gets a F

It starts with talent (players) - B+ (not a rebuilding year)!

Then it goes to coaching - F (a BIG REBUILDING YEAR)!

No more grades from me. When the coaching staff gets an "F" I think that says it all. I've got awful memories going around in my head of days gone by ... brought to you by the Chan Gailey era!

I never thought I would feel the way I did back then in '94 and it's here! I hope we ARE ALL WRONG, but for some reason I do not see that happening. There's too many of us in agreement.

There is NO ONE on this board who doesn't want our team to win but we're also educated fans and not fly by night. Our comments and observations are valid. I could maybe question a fan or two saying negative things, but NOT THE MASSES!

Stadium - A+
Tailgating - B-
Fans - B- (the minus is for booing)
Buzz - B (he hasn't parachuted in with the game ball yet, and hasn't beaten any opposing team's mascot with a big PVC fly swatter)
Team performance - D

Go Jackets!

It was a "C" before Saturday...but now the Program gets an "F-"...that is the lowest grade I can think of and Chan is the reason..he needs to go but we don't have enough money to buy him out...hello ACC bottom tier!!!!!!!!!

Well, here goes (in absolutely no order):

Team preparation - C- (has the offense really shown up in the first half of a real game yet?)

Game plans - D- (perhaps the worst game plans from week to week on offense I have seen in many years. What's going on BOB?)

Crispness - D+ (this team on offense looks like they have never met their teammates, have no hop in their step. They lolly-gag onto the field, they lolly-gag to the huddle, they lolly-gag to the line of scrimmage. What do you have? A bunch of ......) THIS IS A COACHING ISSUE, NOT A DIG ON THE PLAYERS

Two-minute offense - F (we have now invented the 10 minute offense)

Hollings - A+++++++++++++++++++

Defense - B+++++++++++++++++++

Fans - booooooooooooooooooo

Cheddar Cheese Gameday Gold - F

Attendance - A

Band - B

Cheerleaders - A+

Weather - C (too much rain in Death Valley)

New Parking Plan - A (great for season ticket holders, bad for walk up ticket buyers)

Coaching - incomplete (though the offense gets low marks with the second half of the semester a chance to make the grade)

Gameday coaching decisions - C (pretty lame decisions up at Clemson and not going for it on 4th and a yard vs Wake was weak)

Well, that's about all for now.

Yeah, here's mine.

Offense--C-
QB--D- Suggs has been pathetic, but Bilbo has shown some flashes of greatness.
RB--A+ Hollings and Ace have been awesome. Clinkscales has done a great job as the 3rd down back.
WR--B Took some time to get them going, but they've looked great lately.
OL--B- Opened good holes for the backs, and have done a pretty good job giving the QB time.
Coaching--F- O'Brien joins Suggs in the pathetic dept. Chan is not doing his job when it comes to fixing the offense.

Defense--B-
DL--B Done great considering all the bad things that has happened to them.
LB--B Smith seems to have disappered a bit, but Wimbush and Fox have gotten the job done. Would love to see more substitutions here.
Secondary--B These guys have improved greatly. Too much cushion against WF receivers.
Coaching--C Great job against UNC and BYU, but terrible game plans against Clemson and Wake.

Special Teams--B+
Would love to see PJ Daniels returning more kicks and punts. Good distance on kickoffs, and Manget is still awesome on PATs. Need to improve work on FGs. Tech has also done a great job in coverage (minus the debacle at Clemson).

We've got a long ways to go. O'Brien and Chan have to do something about the terrible QB play. I'd play Bilbo and Camp. Bilbo is the future, and Camp looked great in the spring, and he DOES KNOW the offense. I'd play him. Heck, what do we have to lose.

The positive is that we're 4-2. 4-2 is much better than 2-4. We still have time to get this together and make something happen. The schedule is tough, but these kids will go to war for Chan. He'll get the job done. My guess for this year is that Tech will go bowling at the end of the season, and Braine and Chan take a LONG look at this coaching staff.

The OFF gets a C-.The DEF gets a B.The special teams get a C. These are against my expectations
imho

Offense D-.
(Current Hollings-less Offense F.)
Defense B.
Special Teams C+.

Coaching D+.
