What Is AJC Coming To?

This always happens. Two years ago when ND was coming into town and Calvin was a junior, we had a ton of great articles and got much more attention than U[sic]GA did all summer long. Now we again have high expectations and they are again treating us well. The problem is we always disappoint and U[sic]GA always overperforms, so we always get relegated to also-rans in the paper. Just like winning and potential will put fans in the stands, it will also put good articles about us in the paper.

The AJC is just building us up before they start tearing us down again. That's all. Don't get your hopes up.
 
The AJC is like ACC basketball refs - everything's either a bad call or a make-up call.

appears to genuinely like HC Johnson. Seems to be, so far, that they hope he's like O'L & gives them a quote or 2 to write a printable piece around. Johnson seems accomodating to the press, even if he's a little gruff, which is OK with the news writers & speakers as they usually get a 'don't quote me' to go on. The writers really like that dry sense of humor from Coach Johnson.
The writers got nothing from Coach Gailey other than coachspeak 24/7. Pretty much zero quotes that they could run with & very little (zero) humor. It was bland & precious little of it.
