Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have LSU on here with only 8 wins, but they would have had 9 if they didn't miss a game.

Edit: played around with 5-8.

Linked for reference.

Mine would be
1. Alabama/Clemson
2. Alabama/Clemson
3. Washington
4. OSU
5. Oklahoma (looked like the best team not in the playoffs down the stretch)
6. USC
7. FSU
8. PSU (6-8 are tough)
9. Wisconsin
10. Michigan (lost 3 of their last 4. Gotta drop)
11. Oklahoma St
12. Virginia Tech (hard to believe they are this high, but they have 10 wins)
13. Stanford
14. Colorado
15. LSU (as much as I don't want to, their beatdown of UL pushes them up)
16. Florida
17. WMU
18. Miami
19. WVU
20. Utah
21. GT (some homerism maybe, but 9-4 in possibly the toughest division in football)
22. Tennessee
23. KSU
24. WKU
25. Louisville

I don't see why folks think Washington and tOSU have to stay in top 4 just because they were in the playoffs. Both of your 5-9 teams I think would have made better showings than either of those did in the playoffs. Not saying I would drop them below all of those teams, but they probably wouldn't stay in 3-4, especially tOSU.

And now what I think it will be:
1. Alabama/Clemson
2. Alabama/Clemson
3. Washington
4. OSU
5. Oklahoma
6. USC
7. PSU
8. Wisconsin
9. Michigan
10. OKSU
11. FSU
12. VT
13. LSU
14. Colorado
15. Stanford
16. Florida
17. WMU
18. WVU
19. Tennessee
20. Utah
21. USF
22. Miami
23. Louisville
24. KSU
25. WKU
26. GT

I agree, but PSU/Michigan lost which will probably keep the up there. UW deserves #3. OSU could fall, but the logical team to jump them would be OU and OSU thumped them already this season.

Ohio State has done everything to prove they are not a top 4 team, much less the best team in their own conference, I don't see how anyone can continue to rank them so high.

The whole point of the committee putting OSU in the top 4 was the "what have you done for me lately?" mentality. So that in itself should throw out that OU/OSU game. If those two teams played now, I think the outcome would be much different.

My philosophy is to look at the season overall. More recent games only have marginally more importance in my mind. Who has an argument for being ahead of Ohio St? Maybe Penn St because they have the head-to-head, but they have a worse record. Of course, by that argument it doesn't make much sense for Michigan to be ahead of Penn St. I might need to make some edits.

My philosophy was to look at the whole season with a heavy emphasis on the most recent games. My top 25 is a ranking of who's good now, with who earned it on their resume as the tiebreaker between teams that I feel are close.

I'll bet a dollar that Auburn is in the final Top 25 rankings. Best 8-win team in the country.

I would not have OhSt in my top 5. Nor would I have PSU or Michigan in my top ten. Pitt beat PSU and FSU beat Michigan. The committee goes by who beat who that beat who. Well.....Alabama destroyed a USC team that beat PSU also.
Just not convinced the PAC, BIG, or Big 12 were that great.

When we get ranked, you all owe gtrower an apology. And a kilo.

What the hell is up with the big ten love? They got spanked in the bowls. Their entire conference was overrated. But alas, I don't care unless it is GT, and with a 3-0 record against the sec, that squarely puts us in the top 10

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. Record vs. SEC doesn't matter, it only matters that you're IN the SEC. If we were, and lost to those 3 teams, we'd be ranked higher than we are.
