What kind of contribution will this freshman class give in 2003? My thoughts....

Well this is how I see it....
Kenny Scott will definately get early playing time. I dont really expect him to start, but we need a big time cover corner whos fast. Scott fits the job.

Reshaun Grant- Theres no doubt in my mind he will contribute early. This guy runs a legit 4.39 and has great vision. Wouldn't be surprised if we used him as a wideout. From what I hear, hes similar to a charlie rogers or warrick dunn.

3 freshman Qbs (Al Pena, Pat Carter, Reggie Ball) IMO only one of these QB's ill be redshirted. Pat Carter will get playing time anywhere. Hes a big time athlete, kind of like a jonathan smith. we used freddie as a RB WR, and QB. But the QB job is wide open to all....i have heard good things about al, pat, and reggie.

Leshawn Newberry- I would be surprised if leshawn didn't get to contribute early. This guy is real big and would be great for our DL. Hes the kinda guy that will scare QB's and RB's in the backfield.

Joe Anoai- Joe is a hard-hitting, very fast DE. He runs a 4.6 and for a DE, thats pretty dang good. He will be a great pass rusher for GT. IF there are injuries, I wouldn't be surprised seeing Joe be our 3rd down DE to get some pressure.

Avery Roberson- As you can see e dont have very much depth at the safety position. Avery is small, but very fast and a hard hitter. I believe we'll use him a good bit.

Chris Dunlap- This guy has great hands, and he can run. We could use a guy like him..I think he'll get a few plays a game.

Joe Gaston- I think Joe will contribute big time on the special teams. I've heard really great things about him. Hes kinda like a Chris Reis.

Probable Redshirted Freshman (Not Counting them out at all)
Matt Rhodes
Eddy Parker
Kevin Tuminello
Nick Moore
Manfield Wrotto
Brian Fleuridor
Kyle Pupello
Phillip Wheeler
Kamichael Hall
Adamm Oliver

also avery roberson has good size i believe .. for a safety

6-2', 190 .. that's great size for a safety DBo ..

Grant-will spell Hollings. If Tony gets hurt, Grant could be HUGE. Will definitely play.
Scott-could become nickel back while getting ready to replace Cox. An injury & Scott plays early & often. Wish we could afford to rs him.
Only other possibilities, barring an injury run at a position, are for Gaston, Moore, Wheeler, Hall, etc, to break into Special Teams. Williams may impress @ WR with his speed.
