What will be the first play call on off. be Thurs. ?

I actually do think it will be a pass. If not, option play to the right to test that side of the line and to test Nesbitt's pitch shoulder.

One of two plays...

Jville State will kick the ball off to us or we will kick off to them. I bet you $1,000,000!

After that, I do believe our first play from scrimmage will be a quick kick... Gotta win the field position battle!

I say CPJ goes deep :fingersx:

Why break that play out against Jax St.?

You are going to see 85% run plays if not more solely to establish his system against an inferior team. He's not going to show future opponents anything else. I expect it will be a QB keeper around the left tackle after a fake to Dwyer.

Yeah, I think we'll be running like its going out of style, for no other reason than to get repetitions in. Not to mention giving BC/VT (cant remember which we have first) less film.

For **** and giggles...other than that i agree with you.

Option to the left, pitch to Roddy Jones, gain of 7 yards.

I'll lay money against any of these predictions that we start with the inside veer.

i agree that we will run, run, run against Jax St. when Nesbitt gets tired, in come the other QBs to run some more. we want the entire country's media to write about how we will be a running team and run all the time and all we do is run

BC has a pretty stout D-Line, but they seem big and immobile to me against the spread option scheme. also, they have one decent DE. so i think we will be able to run on them also. for that game, though, we may loosen them up with a quick TD pass deep to BayBay. that would be a great way to start on the road.

i think option left, QB keeps and cuts inside for 6 yards (and a cloud of dust). Second play, A back around the right for 24 yards.

Inside veer.

Followed by more inside veer and other running plays.

I'd be shocked if the inside veer is not one of the first 4 things we do.

Option right, probably give to Dwyer because Jax St wil be paranoid about Nesbitt or the pitch.

While we're at it, why don't we just run the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and be done with offense for the next 3 plays until we get it right back.

I'd be shocked if inside veer and outside veer weren't 2 of the first 4 things we did.

Really, this thread should be multiple choice.

Which of the following 4 plays will be the play we run first?

A) Inside Veer
B) Outside Veer
C) A Back Sweep
D) Option Pass

That's really 80% of the offense right there.

Maybe, but I am putting my money on the first play being a pass. One throw, does nothing to tip your hand to future opponents, not to mention, it loosens the defense up for the rest of the game so you can run it alot. Going into BC, they will know to expect both; and anytime an offense is varied it is tougher to prepare for.

Secondly, I saw a neat stat that the first play of PJ games....many times it was a pass even if a swing pass as most defenses are expecting run.

Not to mention there is a big difference in passing all game and showing alot of plays through the game and showing 1 pass to open the game. And thats what we are talking about....1 pass to open the game. I agree, the rest of the game will be base....but I think he starts out with a pass

As far as what the first play is, Nesbit will call it at the line. CPJ will probably send in two plays for Josh to signal at the line, depending on how the D lines up.
