We lose to UGA by 3 and UVA gets blown out by VT?

All the ****ing koolaid that's being drunk around here hasn't fathomed what is the most likely outcome at least according to Vegas. I'm not trying too be negative, but if this happens, I will puke seeing a board melt down of a bunch of people who are totally disappointed in the team and the season.

Just remember how far a first year coach with the youngest team in the ACC and the 2nd youngest of all BCS schools has come. Get some perspective before you go drinking the koolaid, that's my only request.

That said... I hope PJ runs up the score. :fingersx:
 
I was thinking the same thing. We are all excited about the possibilities for this weekend...but...
Just be realistic. This has been a much better season that I ever imagined. I was the idiot predicting us to go 3-9, so I obviously am too pessimistic. It will be a tough battle in Athens, and I hope for the best there and in Blacksburg. But it has already been a great season!!! And the future is very, very bright!!!

All I'm doing is trying to balance out the gods of fate from so many on this board who don't understand the word "jinx" and probably never rolled dice at a craps table in their life. If you've ever gambled in your life, you know what the hell I'm talking about. If you haven't, then you should keep your mouth shut and stop jinxing the rest of us.
 
I have already braced myself for the worst possible scenario....that is why I am bringing a designated driver with me to the game Saturday.

It could happen, but I'd still be happy with 8-4, especially with the talent we have returning next year. If CPJ goes down to UGA his first year at Tech, it could light a fire of intense hatred to carry us through for many years. As much as I'd like to win this game, I think we will dominate the series over the next several years. Enough to wipe the smugness off the faces of the UGAg fans in our midst and reduce them to wimpering, trembling chihuahuas every Thanksgiving for a while. That's something I can be patient for.
 
I will do what I did for the last few years. I will turn on my Xbox, pop NCAA 2006 in it, and return the happy land where I've been the past few weekends after Thanksgiving. I like the call that place denial.
 
I agree with Jacket67. Only if we got blown out could I be that disappointed.

GT returned the youngest and least experienced team in the country, under a new coaching staff, with the most extreme scheme change in the nation.

8-4 is a GREAT first year given all that, and I'd be surprised if we lose the bowl game, so that'd be 9-4.

GT is gonna return about 18 starters next year and we don't even have 50% of the offense in yet. We are gonna be a LOT better, fumbling is gonna be rare, and stopping us without turnovers is gonna be nearly impossible. Double digit wins is gonna be the norm and UGA hasn't had to deal with that level of success on the Flats in 50 years.

Meanwhile UGA has likely peaked and they know it. They are very disappointed and more than a little nervous, because they know they're gonna be rebuilding after losing OMGthetwobestplayersEVER!!!!!!
 
After I believe Reggie's 4th down pass, I didn't go to a Tech message board for about a month or so. Even if UVA somehow wins, I don't want to be anywhere near the meltdown if UGA wins.

Meltdown isn't the right word for it. Thermonuclear holocaust might be the better description. Even with a new coach, this is still the Internet.

I would sulk for about a week then get over it and get ready for the bowl game, recruiting, spring practice and Season II of the Paul Johnson Era as it will come to be known.

Actually...

...if you give us a 40% chance of beating Georgia, and UVA a 40% chance of beating Va Tech, then...

GT wins and UVA wins = 16%
UGA and UVA wins = 24%
UGA and VT wins = 36%
GT and VT wins = 24%

Which is a pretty good chance that something good happens on saturday.
