:rolleyes:often wondered that myself, several times in this forum as a matter of fact

our guys seemed to play their hearts out for him in the Seattle Bowl back in '01.....a come from behind win as I recall
 
Adversity filled season. lose your coach, up against a Stanford team who was heavily favored...I'd play my guts out too. I liked Coach Mac though, very fun game that Seattle Bowl!

True, but every other coach we've ever had won more games.

Edit: I never thought Mac was the right man for the job, but I always felt like Chan was rammed down our throats. I've always supported him though...and would have supported Mac.

Either one was fine by me. I just thought that Mac had earned at least a two or three-year trial. Nevertheless, I supported Gailey after he was hired as our coach.
