To expand the stadium to 65,000, and to then fill it with 85% Jacket fans every game? I only say 85% because of requests from high profile visiting opponents.

Winning is a given, but I think the question is much deeper than that.
To me, its about making an all out attack on making the non committed Atlanta and state college football enthusiasts fans of Ga. Tech. IMO, we need to drop the smugness of Tech when it comes to the support of its athletics.
I think it's fine to stay conceited about our academics, but I know calculus is not a requirement of being a Tech football fan.

I believe an equally big component to building a bigger fan base is to play teams that have a local following. Kissing and fondling our way back into the sec would be the best thing to hit North Avenue since 1965, imo.

Yes, I have an agenda here, but I believe its a good one for TECH.
Your thoughts?

You got that right /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif

Unfortunately, Tech fans seem to be so envious of UGAg they believe that the ACC is a great fit for Tech. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puke.gif They claim the ACC is equal or better than the SEC. I don't think anyone actually, truely, in their heart, believes this. It is a falsehood.

BDS would probably be selling out 80,000 right now had we stayed in the SEC. As great of a man as Dodd was, he made a mistake when he pulled us out. Should have seen the bigger picture. Should have seen that changes were coming to all of college football, including the SEC. Our withdrawal was unneccessary. Had we gotten back into the SEC in the late 70's, we probably wouldn't have the eyesore Wardlaw sitting in the south end, but would have a nice double deck bowling the place in (probably north and south by now).

Man, I sure have an intense dislike for the ACC nowdays. I don't think I will ever like being in this conference again.

Sorry for being so blunt, but only idiots would say that the answer would be not to attempt to get in the SEC. Would take some real leadership for that to happen, which means with clough/braine is would be next to impossible.

And for those who say the acc is tougher in football, I wonder why DB told me we have a better chance of winning a MNC in the acc?
