he's still hurting from the disease thing &/or his feet & legs are still swollen, then perhaps we should be playing Hargrove & Holiday until such time as Greg is completely healed. Our pass rush, which was slack in 1st 2 games, was non-existent vs Clem. GT never laid a finger on Simmons. The only time we hurried him was after he took 5 secs looking for recievers & then had to scramble a little.
Absolutely ZERO containment by DEs on Simmons. After he tired of looking for recievers, he would stroll left or right to buy more time. Pathetic pass rush from everyone concerned. What about Tenuta's stunts & blitzes? When we tried small blitzes, as always, it seemed Clem had already picked it up & would screen or dump to get around the oncoming LB. Simmons ALWAYS had as much time as he wanted. Our DBs must've been on their game as Clem didn't do much with the xtra time, except for picking on Rhino & he got 1 of those.
Tenuta needs to answer what he's gonna do about a pass rush.

I know we're just fans and we have absolutely no bearing on what the coaches do come gametime, but it would seem logical to put Hargrove and Hobie Holiday on the ends until Gathers is back at full speed and strength. When we started the game, KEY FOX was playing defensive end. I understand that may be part of our nickel package, but doesn't that greatly reduce our pass rush?? We've GOTTA improve our pass rush!! We've hit the MEAT of our schedule.

Of course, on second thought, you gotta feel like Gary Johnson will be back this week (hope so anyway) and that should improve the overall pass rush!

Always looking for the bright spot!

Our blitzing schemes were pretty predictable, I thought. We only brought extra guys on clear 3rd down passing situations, and Clemson picked them up every time. Maybe if we had some more 1st and 2nd down blitzes, we'd not only get more pressure on the QB, but make our 3rd down blitzes more viable.
