Where\'s the outrage! That football team laid down yesterday

I can't believe what I witnessed yesterday. A GA TECH football team that refused to compete, refused to hit, refused to show any pride. That football didn't even want to be there yesterday.

I am stunned! I knew we had taken at least one step back. I had no idea we were back to the early days of Bill Curry, that we don't belong on the field with our arch rival, that we can't beat Wake Forest at home, that programs like MARY have flown right past us and accomplished in 2 years what every coach since DODD has been unable to accomplish at TECH.

If our AD isn't in his office this morning, giving our headcoach the same speech he gave to Bobby Cremins when he took the AD job and at the same time working on his short list, then the big money needs to start a short list of their own for a new AD.

This football program is on dangerous ground. Recruiting took a major hit yesterday. We are very close to circling the drain. We may very well be on our way to another in a series of 3-4 year plans, while our rival has reached a higher level than they have in 20 years. And media coverage that we did get in this city just got cut in half.

I cannot believe the complacency on this board.

NO the team didn't quit (Tech never quits) they were just so unprepared that even a 5th grade school girl could have prepared the team better!

You could tell on TV that Chan had mailed it in and was prepared to take his lumps. Hopefully this signals Chan's determination to bee here for the long haul.

Well that's your opinion. I totally disagree with you. The team I saw yesterday didn't fight, and when you don't fight you guit. Oh and by the way, from the many friends who watched the game with me(many of which have no allegiance to either team), to sportstalk radio, I have heard the term "GA TECH quit" over 50 times.

S.CAR--CLEM--OLE MISS--AUB--BAMA--TENN--KY--FLA played the mutts hard and played them to the wire. What I saw yesterday was the equivalant of a MIA/TROY ST matchup. It was disgusting.

ALlives beat me to it. Tech quit. H. E. double hockey sticks I dont think Gailey even started so he could quit.
I need to stop thinking about this. The more I stur it, the worse it smells

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Give it a rest, son. If you can't sweat TECH, get lost. This is the way it's always been and always will be. What's done is done. We didn't finish in the top 10 and we lost to the frappin dawgs (may god royally screw them, amen).
Next year is our current mission. Hopefully, we have a bowl. I still say "God bless Chan Gailey" for coming here and I hope to God we havn't done anything to scare him off! (think Gathers rubbing David "pussyboy" Greene's face in the turf next year at Grant Field).

It is difficult to believe that an athlete, any athlete, actually quits. He always thinks he can make the play. It seemed to me that our guys were in a state of shock. They were totally unprepared for what was to come. Every time we had the ball, we got crushed. WR's got sandwiched and crushed each time. If anything, maybe they were a little skiddish cause of being hit time and time again by 2 or 3 guys. It was just a total flop by our coaches - EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. And, unfortunately, there was no creativity on O to keep their D off balance at all. Quit? I do not believe that.

BizzyBee, you must not have read my earlier post. Brian Murphy quoted Coach DULL in today's Macon Telegraph @ News as saying the Tech team as a whole didn't quit but individuals on the team did quit. This came from the resident BUFFOON himself.
We all know that football is a team sport and you cannot have even one player to pack it in but Coach DULL used the plural PLAYERS when speaking of quiting. This means the cancer is more than a superficial sore but the disease has metastasized
and now we have a terminal illness. Our situation
is desperate and I am surprised that there isn't more hell raising and demands for the scalp of this fraud masquerading as a 1A football coach.
We are in a heap of trouble, boys and girls.

It was obvious to me, the team quit. Whether it was the whole team or just a group, it represents the team.

Yeah right 67. You dazzle us all with your amazing wit and come out with "Eff you" and "Get lost" and I'm the immature one.

Remember one thing gnats. When you get out of bed in the morning, it's FEET first. Do us all a favor and back another team will ya.

Gnats, what have you seen in CG that makes you think things will be looking up? And why "God bless CG for coming here"? He is getting $$$$ and was not doing well in Miami. That is why he is here. You have every right to feel however you feel but so do we, and after yesterday and WF, FSU, MD, CU, Duke, etc. we can feel that we are not getting $$$ worth.

ALlives and Bizzybee have both made good statements. The only thing I disagree with is I don’t believe the team quit. I believe the coaches quit thereby showing the players they were not supporting them. The coaches must go!

AL is a long time GT alum & has put more into this program than u've even dreamed about. He happens to be the most knowledgable sports mind I know. Rarely does he miss on seeing & then analyzing a problem. He can put u to shame on facts. His statements in this post were fairly justifiable. Don't ever go on a board & blast someone for their 'on target' opinions.
And quit being so immature, son.

Al Lives, you are right and have a right to state it so. Outrage? You and I felt outrage, I stayed in Athens till the bitter end watching that crap. These people who claim to be Gailey supporters were nowhere to be found. They are content with this mediocre b__t, chanting "ACC" and getting real happy when we beat UCONN and pretend we're good. Where was Gailey's outrage BEFORE the game? Did he not have a clue about what he was about to walk into? Guess not, and by his hibernation I guess that's how he intends to handle it, spending his million bucks and cozying up to some of these "posters" who tell him what a great coach he is.
