Yeah, the Blue Field Smurf Bowl is a joke, but Boise State has an unbelievable record at defending their home.

Remember when they dissed us a few years back saying they wanted to play against a "major" school and not Georgia Tech?

I've been looking forward to this day ever since.
I hope we rip off their heads then crap down their throats...on their ugly arse blue field.

Ya'll with me?

:ugh:

I wouldn't think if we played there, we would be playing BS. Maybe a Tulsa rematch?

The new version should be out any day now. :laugher:

You got my hopes until I researched and found this on wiki:

Duke Nukem Forever
In 1997, 3D Realms announced a direct sequel titled Duke Nukem Forever. It has been shown at two E3s (1998 and 2001) and has gone through several engine changes and restarts. The developers have repeatedly stated that it will be released "when it's done". As of 2007, it is still in development, and celebrated its tenth year in development hell in March 2007. Recently, a thumbnail of what looks like Duke Nukem in a modern game was released to the Internet as part of a job posting on the video game developer website Gamasutra. This could be a sign that Duke Nukem Forever is still under active development.

The Boise board on scout is actually fairly pleased that GT is the #1 prospect for them right now.

Whether we give them a game or not...dunno.

I'm friends w/ a cheerleader and he (ya ya) said that everyone likes the boise bowl because they all get to go skiing while they are there.

For a group of kids mainly from the south, I would have to imagine that many have not seen large amounts of snow. I would think it would be a blast. I remember a report from the last trip about how much everyone enjoying going snowmobiling and such...

I wouldn't think that any of the players would be allowed to snow ski or do any type of activity that might increase the opportunity for injury....Like Gant and his motorcyle injury....senseless

The snowmobiles seem like a safer route....if driven safely...I will admitt they can fly & are a ton of fun...but like other things can be lethal if handled carelessly

Uhhh....No....

Think Utah, only more potent.

I think they put up Hawaai'i type numbers on our secondary.

Honest question:

Yes, we'd be playing a top 25 team...on the road...but would the team/fan base actually "get up" for this game, or would the perception of playing a smaller team in a lower-tier bowl cloud the enthusiasm? This is a death-trap game to me. I'd love to see us play a team like that and have a good showing, but unless we all come out with a new attitude, I see us getting torched by Boise.

Clean up on aisle five.

I want the biggest, baddest bowl possible. So should everbody else.

There I've said it.

Boise is my old hometown. It's been about 20 years since I lived there, but I do get back that way about once every two or three years. I'll probably go if we wind up there.

As far as the skiing goes, Bogus Basin, which is right above town isn't really all that technical. So assuming the games already been played, there's little to worry about our players hitting the slope. There's also a non-skier's alternative at nearby Steamboat Gulch, where people sled down the hill in giant inner tubes.

Little known factoid about the Smurf Turf. When they first installed it, but before they painted the lines and hatch marks, some of the local waterfowl got confused and thought the field was a lake. This prompted Idaho Vandal fans to show up at the game with duck calls.

If we are not going to Music City, I want to play Boise on the blue turf.

Boise doesn't concern me. Yeah, they might have beaten Oklahoma last year, but that was last year. So far who have they beaten? A bunch of crappy WAC teams? they lost to 4-8 washington, and hawaii. I can just see Tashard just dismantling their defense for 300 yards or something. My only concern would be our secondary, but I think we'll do just fine against the smurfies.

When preparing for the Hunanitarian Bowl a few years ago, our guys were leaving Rose Bowl Field as Clemson was entering to prepare for the Peach Bowl. All the Clemson guys raved about what a great time they had in Idaho, and upon returning our players agreed.
