Wasn't Tom O'brien ready to take the job if the Hill lowered academic standards but the Hill denied his request so he went away?

Not saying I want him now, just trying to recall if that happened after GOL left.

This was one of the rumors that was floating around. Dunno if it is true and quite frankly it sounds fishy.

Yes, we were going to hire O'Brien, but the Hill did not like him. In retrospect, it should be obvious that O'Brien wanted out of BC and wanted lower academic standards. Look where he ended up.

We had a coach who did a super job as an assistant and as interim HC in the bowl game but he was not seriously considered because he was a UGA grad. I would love to see him interviewed again. Anybody remember Mac McWhorter?
