Who is Calvin Johnson?

"Some days I wouldn't even go to class,'' Johnson said. "I'd sit in the room and play video games with my friends and eat powdered mashed potatoes.''

hmmmmm....can you say, LACK OF DISCIPLINE ?

Of the folks I know who are doing pretty well these days, Id say at least 80% blew off class a few times a month to just relax. Techs a constant kick in the nuts, sometimes you need a break.

Everyone does that some days. Maybe not the mashed potatoes part, but certainly the not going to class part.

You honestly think CJ had a " lack of discipline" at GT?

So you went to class every day? Yeah, I'm buying that one.:laugher:

He was probably referring to the general team situation. Chan Gailey did seem to employ lax policies with regards to team behavior.
Considering we had no problems with discipline sans Reuben Houston, I think Gailey had pretty good policies.

I'd cut class to go watch the preachers next to DaramTech tell us that we were all going to hell.

I'm cutting class right now.

during dead week.

suck it.

Reggie Ball and Kenny Scott.

What if we had made it to the Orange Bowl that year and our best cover corner and starting QB hadn't shown up?

My point is, CPJ makes these guys go to class or else they run at 6 am.

I was always taught this about college: SHOWING UP IS HALF THE BATTLE.

Skipping class during dead week isn't really skipping. Wait, it's already dead week. It's that far into the year? Damn...

They were seniors and knew the system. Not to rehash old stuff at all, but at some point the kids have to be on their own. No different than how some of the colleges mandate academic advisement until you're a junior, at that point you either ask for help or you get crap together and do it yourself. Im not going to blame those two on anyone except themselves. Now if a bunch of freshmen/sophs were to fail out, thats a different stroy.

Yeah - I'm taking Thursday off to get recharged for finals :woot:. (And by "recharge" I mean sit around all day and play COD4 )

as it turns out, Reggie should never have been ineligible, that was an admin error. so reduce your list to KS and RH, and i wouldnt call lack of grades a "discipline problem" if the guy is going to class and trying... how do you know?
