Who is our most recent #1 HC Prospect now?

The speculation around the new HC here at GT process has been air tight...Not exactly sure (100%) who has interviewed, who's scheduled for interviewing, and who the real dark horse candidates are currrently....
These are the ones that I am most familiar with (or have been circulated the most)

R. Neuheisel
Johnson (supposing to have expressed interest late)
Hatcher (not sure if he is going to get an interview/has had one)
Strong (mixed reviews go/no)
Fisher (is out from most of what we've heard)

Is there an updated ranking of the tier rating that was out late last week...Has it changed?
What a curious process this has been...I have been drawn in & can't wait to hear who we've picked & to see what the coaching staff is going to look like....
I really hope they keep G. Smith, Kelly, Get Collins back....& hope that Hatcher is our man....:fingersx:(on GT staff in some form or fashion)

I guess it depends on what set of rumors one hears and remembers, but what sticks with me about Jimbo is that he removed himself because of Techs lack of resources.

Now I hear his name connected to the So. Miss. job!
Anyone else?
 
Do you think that DRad should at least hold a "update meeting" with the press....to address the progress of where GT is in this process? I have mixed reviews...I would like to have a "official update" from DRad on where we are...ON the other hand if we aren't fairly close to making a final decision then why add the press to make more assumptions....But something needs to happen soon for the sake of our recruiting class & for the passionate fans....GO JACKETS...Good luck DRad may the best man be hired!

Nueheisel- video conference
Muschamp-interviewed, Tuesday, back on campus for formal Saturday and Sunday.
Hatcher- possible interview
Johnson- possible interview

Sounds like Muschamp is indeed in the lead if he is getting a 2 day interview...

You just can't do that. Getting a coach requires a ton of negotiation, and if you're updating the world on your search a bunch of bad things happen:

- Coaches you're interested in can leverage it to get more offers, raising the price for everyone.
- If you're trying to keep assitants, and the assitants don't have any ties to your "updated candidates", they are all going to look for new work.
- In Tenuta's situation, if he knows he's not getting the job then he's looking for new work; if you say he's still in the running, then you get killed by the fanbase when he's not selected.
- If your first choice falls through, you have to explain it in more press conferences, making you look stupid.
- Your feelings may change based on how candidates perform in an interview, and then you have all those crazy fans on message boards talking about how you filp flopped on your decision.

This is not a time for over-communication; or for communication, for that matter. Its a competitive landscape, and playing your cards close to the vest helps you get a better coach at a better price.

3 days on campus? Sounds like a done deal.

I hope he knows a good OC, cuz that is what we need...to score points and develop a freakin' QB!
 
- We will name a new coach this week

- Tomorrow or Tues is a possibility

No, I don't ramblin. Speculating here on the ST board has been fun --but I prefer that DRad and company go through the interview process --make a decision --then announce it. We know what's going on so let's just let DRad focus on the job at hand and not worry himself with updating the masses.

bad choice IMO, dumb and bad choice
 
I'm tempted to think this is a great choice when those that went down with the Gailey ship think otherwise...
