edsall obviously wants it. tenuta would love it I'm sure. Does anyone else really want the job? i mean like they are really hoping to get it. Is there some guy who grew up in ATL listenign to Al Ciraldo and maybe sold cokes at GT who is now the OC or DC at a good school or maybe the head coach at a smaller school who has always dreamed of the GT job?

I have no idea but all things equal I would love somebody who really is excited about not just a head coaching gig but the GT head coaching gig. edsall seems to be one of those guys.

Any FAMU, Grambling, SC State, towson grads out there who have always followed the Jackets and would kill for this job?

I've heard that Paul Johnson wants it, but apparent Drad isn't interested.

I think Paul Johnson is buddies with Chan and doesn't want to cross that line. Did demjackets say that? I don't recall...but i did hear it somewhere.

I want it!

Oh snap... I have no football experience

Yeah me too, and I can swear with the likes of Muschamp, be as crazy as Nutt , drink almost as hard as Tenuta, show up to church at least once a month like Gailey, and on top of that I can implement the old Southern Triple Option attack perfectly since my HS ran it. Hell, for the right price (somewhere slightly above the poverty line) I can probably be convinced to wear one of those rockin new visors that turns you into a football guru instantly!

Where do I sign up? :laugher:

Edsall wants it
PJ showed interest, but we didn't show much back

there are others.

According to.....?

As for coaches with GT ties...

Steve Davenport, if he only had a bit more experience would be ideal.

Ken Whisenhunt might be just about sick of the desert with anymore games like yesterday.

If you think Nutt is a goof ball, why not go all the way off the scale and bring in Glanville?

All right you get my nod

Is their proof/inside word that Edsall wants it? What if his alma mater 'Cuse came offering?

It might be hard to go the "is there a great coach out there who happened to be a Tech fan/alumni/coach route," as we've probably exhausted all those potential candidates thinking about this the last 2-3 years and haven't come up with anyone (outside of Whisenhunt).

Plus, we kinda did that with Chan, who wasn't a Tech guy but wanted to come back to GA and we thought we were lucky at the time.

All right beej you get OC.
Hell we gotta fit Kyle in there some where though. Much time as he spends on here imagine what he'd be like coaching! If they had streaming game tape on here he may never get off this site.

in my opinion, muschamp would be the right choice. he's done nothing but coach great defenses at auburn, plus he also has fire in his belly and wants to win. his brother is the head coach at the high school where i graduated from a few years back, and he also wins. he could lead that team to a second straight state semifinals birth.

however, the only problem is that if he is hired, that will give us two great defensive coaches (him and tenuta) and i think we really need someone besides john bond to jumpstart our offense, or replace some of chan's lousy, unagressive play calling.

Put him in charge of internet recruiting. He can control the message boards to make sure GT gets out a consistant message.

That's where my qualifications end - at the selling cokes part. And Al was a neighbor where I grew up. :)

I coach and sold peanuts and cokes at Grant Field. Unfortunately I don't coach football, but I have realized that either you are a winner and find ways to win or you are not. I find ways to win, in fact, I find ways to guarantee wins, something Chan was lacking unfortunately (he was extremely strong in other areas however and I will miss him).

Anyway, all sports are the same to me. You have to know when to be aggressive with playcalling, when to motivate the kids, when to fire up the fan base and when to just go have a quiet beer.

well mid, as acting AD you'd have to ask Smoney where to put you. With your credentials however I'm sure it'll be a lofty position.
