Who Was Our Previous Highest Draft Choice?

Talk is Calvin may even go #1 to Raiders, who are looking at dumping Randy Moss. It would be a shame to get stuck on that team with another lousy QB, but it would be neat to see CJ go #1. I'm hoping he slips some and ends up with my Houston Texans (but can't see him dropping that far!)

Who was our highest before CJ? Brookings?

Sorry to see him go, but it was a no-brainer. Hope he comes back and gets his degree like he says.

would be great to him go that high... such a good person and player. Can you imagine his numbers with a decent qb?

According to ramblinwreck.com, Eddie Prokop

was the #4 pick in the first round of the 1945 NFL Draft going to the Boston Patriots.

Larry Morris was #7 in the first round of the 1955 draft to the Los Angeles Rams.

Brooking and Coleman were our two most recent first round picks, both at #12 in 1998 and 1992, respectively.

I'd imagine his numbers might be something like 9 catches and 186 yards per game. Playing with whoever the Raiders scrounge up for QB would be even worse than playing with Reggie. Maybe the Falcons could trade Vick to the raiders for the pick and some other players.

I imagine that will depend entirely on whether that decent QB has other targets. I bet his numbers at New England wouldn't be any better than any of the other receivers there this year. Same for the Colts.

His numbers at Atlanta would be considerably higher than other receivers, though, because he's used to innacurate QBs who put too much muscle behind the ball.

Ouch but true.

I just hope Calvin goes top 10. Have you seen some of ther others coming out in the draft in addition to the seniors? You've got Quinn and Samardja from ND, Jamarcus Russell from FLA, Jarrett from USC, Troy Smith from OSU, Charles Johnson from UGA and Quentin Moses will both go high. Sidney Rice from SoCarolina. Haven't gotten to the RB's or DB's, positions that usually go faster in the draft. Its just amazing how many Juniors are coming out this year.

Plus Reggie will be coming out - Hope he doesn't push Calvin too far down in the first round....:laugher:
