Why all the Bowden hate?

Im asking an honest question as it appears that most folks here seem to despise him even though he carries a fairly impressive resume.

I dont want to see a bunch of flaming of the guy for no reason but he's short or fat. Id really like to know where the dislike comes from. Maybe im missing something.
 
Afraid the game might have passed him by; he's been out of coaching and in the booth for 10 years.
 
That's it for me as well --he's been out of the game for a decade.

...not to mention that he's an oompa loompa. :oops:

Not to get too political, but the main reason Republicans disliked Bill Clinton was personal not professional. Once Newt took over the House Clinton became very moderate.

What that has in common with this situation is that GT fans expect the HC to represent the Institute at all times in only the best possible manner.

I have no reason to believe that TB wouldn't start a circus like it was at Auburn. Just like with BC, there was a "charred and smoky" history. If you choose to ignore that and pretend there is no fire then you are very likely to be burned too.

figures if you're going to hire a circus act as a HC, you might as well get some trapeze artists or something as assistants..
 
Many of my friends from Auburn thought he had too many close relationships with members of the student body. I don't have direct knowledge, but he at least allowed the appearance of impropriety to become widely dispersed through some of his actions. I don't think that flies on the flats. Auburn fans have sworn that he had several incidents of this nature.

As previously stated, 10 years is a long time to be out of the game.
 
THE SWAGGER COORDINATOR was on RAW last night --from Charlotte no less-- to make a special announcement concerning his career (angle that he would announce his retirement) --but the Nature Boy announced that he would NEVER RETIRE! Wooooo!!
 
Pickings on Tech campus are slim enough without the HC competing for the talent pool.

If we add donkey diving to the halftime show the stadium will be packed. Watching a monkey with a parasol ride a donkey off of a diving board into a pool of water has got to be the pinnacle of western culture.

Just wanted to add, in defense of Bowden, it is almost impossible to spend more than 3 hours on Auburn's campus without sleeping with a coed.
 
Didn't Auburn fire him? I wouldn't want some else's reject. That's what we already had.
 
If Terry Bowden showed up at my door to recruit my kid I would tell him to get lost. He's a Bull****ter of the highest degree and has about as much ethics as a pimp between North and Ponce.

If we add that to the flaming hoop routine with a dog and monkey, we may just change the face of halftime shows across America.

If you think the fan base was divided with Chan as head coach, try to hire that little prick.
 
I have to disagree. Bowden is a salesman of the finest order. He would have unite the fan base quickly. He would pull the right levers and he would WIN now. Long term is the issue with him. I think he learned his lessons at Auburn but who knows. These guys spouting fire would probably be the first ones after he gives his initial speech to talk about how surprised they are and they support him fully.
