And the best job has yet to become open, U-C-L-A. I guess that will happen in a few hours if Dorrel blows it again. That is a scary good job, at least all of the resources and talent of A&M without any of the fanatical pressure.
The top candidates aren't going to accept anything until they have all offers on the table. There is no advantage to offering quickly unless the candidate is unsure of other prospects.
Oleary said he was 61 and was going to retire at UCF and loved the state of FL....That his next stint was going to be at Tee box 1 some where...didn't sound like he was interested in going anywhere new!
Anybody that wants to jet to another "better" job when it comes open can show themselves the door. Whoever is going to get this job needs to be dedicated to it right now, not pending other opportunities.
The Syracuse job isn't worth a bucket of p**s right now. The program is in shambles the fan base could give a s**t about football. I work with a SU grad and he agrees that even the students don't care. O'Leary, Edsall or Captin Crunch would be a fool to take on that program. I wouldn't worry about losing any of our canidates to SU.
