Why don't we do more play-action?

I don't understand. Run, run, run, and then pass. That is what we did all day unless it was short yardage on 3rd down.

If we're not going to pass it much, why don't we do play-action on some of the passes we are going to attempt?

Its a good thought. But, TB takes long enough in the pocket as it is. PA would cause him to take even longer.

I thought our play calling showed a clear lack of confidence in our ability to throw the ball down the field. If we don't think we can pass, defenses will really stack against the run. I hope we throw more on first and second down at Maryland.

He looked comfortable with the PA rollout in the first quarter that netted us about 10 yards. We should have called that a few more times.

In the postgame show, Chan admitted that he told Bond to change his playcalling to favor the run more, once he saw how good our D was playing.

I do not fear that we'll call more pass plays vs Maryland. We definitely will. The question is whether or not we'll complete them.

It worked this time, but you can't be sitting on a one score or less lead in the college game. Something crazy, like muffing a punt on your own 20, could happen and lose you the game.

You know what this means?

We will NEVER blow anyone out who is worth a darn.

Glad we got the W and am glad we went with the conservative game plan this time. We just seem to squander a conservative approach type of game once a year and it freaks me out i.e. Georgia every year.

We were forced to throw more against BC and VA, and we lost. That's what scares me.

Obviously the run, run, pass on 3rd and long is a lot of the reason our 3rd down efficiency sucks so bad.

Yeah, I can't say I agree with it even in yesterday's game. But it is pleasing that we will pass more vs Maryland, that there's at least an explanation for the conservative playcalling.

Dropped passes yesterday ......I remember at least 3 ....think it was 4.... hurts big time. Most were for first downs. If those had been caught our offense would certainly have looked more like a total package.

I thought TB actually played a good game.
