Why is Cemmins ranked above us?

Can anyone explain how in the world Clemmins is ranked above us in both the AP and the UPI(former)/coaches poll? Their top wins are U of So.Car. and FSU.

We beat them.

Our top wins are #10 awbunn and #9 miammaa.

What gives?

Doesn't make a lot of sense since (wow ..same word, different spelling and meaning) GT defeated Clemson and has a 5-3 ACC record compared to 4-4.

They won their last 3 games in a row, we lost 2 of our last 3. Clemson didn't have any uncompetitive games either, they lost to Miami and BC in overtime, by 4 to Wake, and by 1 to us.
