will AUC post photos of Reggie\'s wedding........?

the AUC had photos of David Greene's wedding (Pollock was there but he was not the bride /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hugelaugh.gif) and I have to wonder if/when Reggie marries if the AUC will be there with there cameras?

Reggie is a GA HS kid who is a 4 year starter. I expect to see photos of Reggie's wedding as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rockon.gif

BTW, in case you have not heard, David Greene and David Pollack played pee wee ball together, roomed together, and are overall best buds.

The other major news is the schools in ATL are worried that the feds may shut them down for being pathetic.

There are numerous people at GT, Ugag, Ga Southern, and Ga State that are MORE significant than this guy. It actually makes sense that the feds are gunning for the pathetic Ga schools. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twocents.gif

Hey, I still couldn't believe when the AUC had a poll for the "Atlanta athlete of the year" that included Pollack, even though he played in a cesspool 80 miles down the road.

Um....I'm no fan of his but he is the all-time winningest QB in college football history. Doesn't get much more significant than that. Not to mention the AJC is in love with UGAy.

Gotta agree here with Macon on this one. I love our QB, but Reggie is not exactly of the same status as Greene...

Granted, you can debate whether the wedding itself was newsworthy (although I bet there were plenty of dogs who read it and considered it a relevant news article), but don't think you can expect for Reggie to have the same treatment...

I posted this on the Hive a couple of days ago. Keep in mind that I'm not your typical dawg-hatin' inferiority complex GT fan....

The biggest joke of a record in college sports.

In the history of college sports, how many QBs...

1) Started every game all 4 years plus
2) played in the 12 game regular season era plus
3) played in a conference with a championship game during the conference championship era plus
4) played in the "preseason" game era plus
5) played in an era when all team >.500 played in a bowl game?

Bottom line, how many QBs had the opportunity to win as many games as Greene? Probably none.

Oh yeah, those "most wins ever" only produced 1 SEC championship and 0 national championships.

Can't argue with that, but the fact is it is still a significant achievment. And he did take the top spot from Peyton Manning who also never won a National Championship. Again, I don't have a dog-hating inferioty complex either and hence don't have a problem giving credit where credit is due. Fact is the guy won.
And also let me add that as much as we all hate to admit it (and many on here probaby won't) UGA is "Georgia's Team" and get's waaaaaay more press coverage than we do. But that is one of the positives of bein a Tech fan, I like being the "other guy" and not following the crowd. I mean how much gumption does it take to be a UGA fan? None.

I agree that Greene is in a higher electron orbital than Reggie due to his success and now NFL status.

I don't think that this deserves front page coverage though.

Definitely not front page news, must've been a slow news day.
Georgia's state-wide biased media coverage of UGA is much like the mainstream media's biased coverage of everyday news (being liberal). Don't want to turn this political but that's just how I think of it at least. All we hear about it UGA this and Mark Richt that.
 
GT and WSB TV

I don't want to make a separate thread for this so I will just drop it in here. I was on MARTA last night picking up my daughter from the airport. I was watching one of the in-car TV's, which normally broadcasts WSB newscasts.

I looked up at the screen and some story about Georgia Tech and 'chemical agent detection' or 'chemical' something was being aired.

The story was highlighted with some footage of the campus ...but what I wanted to get at was the caption on the screen correlating the footage:

I mean, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wtf.gif, WSB and GT have both been a part of the Atlanta landscape for how many friggin' years now and this happens?

What to publish about our QB other than how he wasted two years (to date) with one of the most talented receivers in college football to throw to?
