Will DRad announce today?

I hope so just so we can get on with starting over
(again sic). Getting in touch with the young recruits who stated earlier they wanted to come to Tech. And hopefully getting ready for some bowl of some form or fashion.
 
Probably not, just takes a day or two to get ducks in a row, do some negotiating, etc. But we'll see...
 
I predict it will be done before the sun sets. It's not just been planned since Saturday. This has been coming for a long time.

Also predict new coach before the end of the week.

That is one of the consequences of making a change and why their is never really a good time to make a change, unless a coaching is retiring and being replaced by one of his assistants. That said, the new coach needs to be hired quickly and retain a couple of key assistants to "ease" the transition in recruiting. With a senior class of 18 players and GTcoming off probation restrictions (6 scholarships) we have close to 25 scholarships available. This is the most critical recruiting class in recent history for GT. If we screw this up it will basically be self inflicted probation
 
Losing a couple of players is not a good enough reason to keep him.
 
I don't think he should or can be retained.......

I just hope that the transition is handled well and quickly to minimize fall out to recruiting because the impact this class will have down the road
 
There's no reason to wait longer. Rad needs to pull the trigger or announce he's behind Gailey ASAP. The longer it goes on, the worse it gets.

This is all on Rad now.
 
We'll see what Dan R is made of in the way he handles this.

If Gailey is gone, it needs to be done quickly and a successor named a day or two later, if not immediately.

Contrast Rice's hiring of Ross (just a day or so after Curry bolted) and the lengthy process by which Gailey was hired under Braine.

Gailey costing us almost an entire recruiting class by being hired late, then refusing to go to work before the end of the NFL playoffs, cost himself and the program dearly. I suspect nothing similar will happen with DR.
 
Hopefully DRad has planned this for a while --has it well thought out --and has a good short-list put together --and will get to it immediately after today's 2pm press conference.
