I have not heard anything on Gathers recently. I'm curious if he is able to workout any. I fear his bout with this disease may not give him time to come back next year at all. I'm guessing that he is limited to what he can do, and as a result, may be getting fat and weak. Hope I am wrong, and that he is able to currently work hard.

I spoke to someone very close to Greg this past weekend before the game. They were very positive about his recovery - they inidicated he was about 70% towards being cured - that's my interpretation, but the 70% number was used.
I didn't ask about football or his preparations for next year, but I had asked about that of the same person a few weeks ago, and they were very high on Greg's attitude and desire to get back and be even better than he was before.
Just passing along what I heard.

Actually, its "potentially" serious.
The majority of people who have this, IF they get the corticosteroid treatment for a long enough period of time ( the key is to NOT discontinue the steroids too soon), then there is a very good chance that its a non-serious disease (again, it CAN be potentially serious, but its usually a good outcome)

Greg has a very serious illness and his well being is my first concern. He is taking prednisone or at least he was and that alone will make a person overweight. Lets pray for Greg to recover and if he can play football in the future that will be a bonus.
