that 2.5 mil paycheck is a major message to PH. If you can get the job done there might be some pennies we can scrape together.

On the other hand D'rad got rid of CG for treading water which PH seems to have been doing lately. PH has a FANTASTIC class coming in and that will buy him some time but now that D'rad has successfully mended one fence he will probably be quick to plug another hole.

It is strange when PH took us to the Nat CG I thought we had a lifer here and now it seems it is starting to get messy.

Same thing happened with Cremins. I never thought we would lose Cremins due to unsuccessful seasons. I know Cremins left on his own terms, but I think he would still be here if he would have kept making "the Tournament".
Basketball is a different animal than Football though. It takes time to build a Football program and time for it to fall apart. Basketball is year to year with NBA departures. Its harder to hold basketball coaches accountable for losing seasons because they have less control on player personnel than football coaches do. Injuries and ineligible players also affect the teams more since you only have 12 players instead of 85.

Read the Basketball forum?

demjackets has this well covered. Paraphrasing: PH will definately be around next year. But if he can't produce with his "best recruitment class", meaning at least a 2nd round win in the NCAA tournament, we'll probably show him the door.

Situations change. Demjackets also said there was zero percent chance of us hiring Paul Johnson.

Yes, and that surprised me because what little inside contacts I have were all saying PJ was the man even before the end of the season.

Was it some little misdirection, perhaps?
