Or not knowing how to make a "T" symbol with your hands.
While I respect your right to an opinion, midatlanta, I humbly disagree.
If you remove our game vs Miami, they are 28th in the country vs the Run, not bad.(for the record we knocked them all the way down to 78th...nice)
And "talent" has never been the issue at Miami, as most of their fans love to throw around their "lack of talent under coker" as a reason to their failure...even though their average class has still been top 10 for the last 6 years. They're working with more talent than the vast, vast majority of D1 teams, but if you can't coach your high school players to play at a college level then you will never have success.
As far as I'm concerned Miami can stay right where they are for a long time.
Regarding defensive rushing, Miami couldn't stop the run against California either. They are not a stout run stopping defense and considering their history, that surprises me.
Regarding Shannon, it's too early to tell if Shannon is any good or not. IMO, he is taking the right steps to build a long term base for their program. He's reestablished himself into the key Miami recruiting areas, but he's also taken action against the thugs in his program.
Miami is a very young team right now and certainly has lost their swagger. As I've said a hundred times regarding Chan here, in college, emotions plays a big part of the game. With a more potent offense, a few key athletic big plays, etc. Miami COULD be back by next year. It doesn't guarantee that they will be, but COULD be.
Also, talent is nice, but it is important to get the right talent. Chan did a remarkable job getting Tech the right talent. I don't know enough about Shannon and Miami's recruiting, but give him a couple of years to recruit and develop his own talent.
Until proven differently early next year, I see Miami as being our fourth toughest opponent next year behind UGA, VPI, and FSU. They still matter.
p.s. what is the T reference?
p.p.s. Shannon looked like he could kill Nix at the end of their bowl game.
