ABSOLUTELY....IMO

Some Ga South fans/Alumni have always followed GT sports and this will create a stronger bridge to bring in the anti-ugag fan

Some PJ fans in ATL will come on board.

As Ugag has gotten stronger the alliance of GA Southern/GT could put more seats in BDS@HGF.

If GT has higher success I am predicting sellouts and ANOTHER stadium expansion.

and yes I am a GA Southern Alumni

Let's hold off on the stadium expansion until we can get 5 to 10 years of sellouts.
The last one put us in serious financial trouble that we are just now getting out of 4 years later.

There is very little room to expand our stadium further than it already is.

Let me rephrase: There is zero room to expand our stadium affordably.
Now you're just crapping on the management majors.

beej,
not scared to make enemies

"LAW-BEE" Good points!

IMO--conference expansion and stadium expansion were necessary. It's just that the timing was bad.

With the right;
...coach,
...conference,
...schedule,
...location,
...salary.,
...in short..."POTENTIAL"....

..."BEE" football will "BEE" or has "BEEn" embraced.

My gut tells me it's a new great era for GT football!

YES---to an UPPER UPPER EAST. It may mean closing down Techwood Dr. in that area, but there definitely is room to go up. The now-existing "Upper-East" is no more than a balcony. I know. I sit there.

the "footprint" of East is very tight. You CAN go higher

with all the criticism's of the previous expansion i would like to know the $$$'s. We are selling out SEC, Clemson, and sometimes a few others.

I think we always need to be planning. We can wait on the execution but when you quit planing you make a bad statement.

OK -- this is my pet peeve subject.

BDS Expansion was clearly rushed to make GOL happy, and was done EXTREMELY POORLY. I mean absolutely piss poor. The stadium is geometrically ugly and disjoint ... and is extremely baffling for the level of architectural graduates GT puts out.

It fails at really adding revenue. If you want to maximize ticket sales, you add more prime sideline seating, NOT nose bleed endzone seats or the damn wedge!

It fails at visually representing the prestige and history of the program. How about that 1940's era horseshoe eh? It was the Wrigley Field of college football. Elegant, low key, but dripping classiness and history.

It fails at maximizing fan noise. Outzen is 5 times louder with 10,000 less people. Now there's a stadium that has been designed well!

IMHO, it's time to start over, using the 1940's horseshoe with a modern twist with roughly equivalent seating (60,000).
