All biases aside, what do you guys think of Willie Martinez?

being a UGAg menion, I hate him, but I really find it funny that everyone is calling for his job since we ran over them. Even before, there were some booing him, but I think that is just the whiney mutts trying to find a scapegoat.
I think UGAg fans just need to realize that they are not as good as they think they are and that they were overhyped by they media and they believed it.

Also, even if it is WM's fault, I hope they do keep him so we can totally humiliate them next year!

I don't think he is good. I really don't. His numbers decrease every year. They are 14.5 sacks down from last year, I just heard it on the Buck and Kincaide show it's not because I am researching UGAY, anyways, nope if you are UGA, you let him go. As a coordinator you want progress in the numbers and efficiency.

As a GT fan, keep him as long as possible

Nobody was calling for Miami's DC Bill Young's scalp after we ran for 472 against them. In fact, the fans wanted Nix run off and a per centage were for dumping Shannon. Richt is sorta Teflon rigtht now--and why not? Great record, great program, but the bar has been raised way way up there. We need to be ready for the same kind of foolishness. Now that we've tasted 9-3 we will want at least that every year. People are already posting 13-0 for next year's prediction. Martinez--like many others--has never seen this offense and won't see it enough to effectively combat it. And when a team has seen Tech two or three times-guess what?-Paul Johnson will modify the offense. It is complex. It is modifiable. It is mysterious. It is baffling. It will make Roddy effing Jones a household word!

Its kind of the same situation we had with Ted Roof in '99. Our offense was awesome but the defense couldnt stop a middle school girls flag football team. I'm sure part of it was Roof's fault (his first year as a DC), but that defense was decimated with injuries and had far inferior talent. Roof actually had pretty good defenses in '00 and '01. Wiilie Martinez went throught the same thing this year. Ugay had some injuries, their recruits prob arent as good as they think, and ugay has lost to some damn good teams. Can ugay get a better DC?....YES. Would it have mattered in their losses this year?....NO. Do I hope they keep him?...HELL YES.
