Yep, losing. Case in point. I went to a big high school with a long history of losing football. They went 1-39 through one 4 year streak prior to my playing on the varsity. At the same time, our 8th and 9th grade teams were undefeated and won the city championship both years. My 10th grade year, I was on the varsity and only played one JV game. Again, JV was undefeated and the varsity won 3 games. Not a great record at 3-7, but at least we had broken the trend. My 11th and 12th grade years, we lost only 5 of 20 games. Within 2-3 years after that they had won the region and I think played for a state title. Same coaches and systems for the most part, but we went from expecting to lose to hating to lose.

Has GT gotten to the hate to lose mindset yet?

I think it’s hard for the people inside the program to hate losing when Collins frames everything the way he does. I’m so proud of the guys, just a matter of time, Sims was great, Cimaglia was great, Gibbs staying in bounds is whatever since he’s so talented and we aren’t 1 point from winning that game without Jahmyr Gibbs, etc.

Dude is a total coddler and he‘s an idiot during actual 60 minute games as he’s proven time after time, so that is a very, very bad combination for “hating to lose.”
