Just wanted to know who the most popular player on the team is.

But seriously, if TM gets pulled/dinged/loses helmet/etc... who is CPJ trotting out there?
 
Lucas Johnson. Coach Johnson talked about wanting to get him in on the last possession against Duke, but we never got it because Duke ran out the clock.

After that, presumably Jay Jones then Chase Martenson.

Lucas is the future. I wouldn't be surprised if Jay Jones transfers. Which means we have to recruit another qb next class.

It didn't appear Jones was getting much, if any, of the pregame reps before the VT game. Just Johnson and Marshall. When they were warming up option plays near the goal line pregame, it was only those two.

Not that I don't believe it won't be a wide open competition next season. Coach has always said if you want the job you have to win it. I wouldn't count any of the three out as starter next season. As for now, Lucas Johnson is the clear backup.
 
It would be interesting to see Jay Jones. If you were at the Fall scrimmage, you may recall he was the most dynamic QB we have. He was very elusive and ran around from sideline to sideline (in one play) trying to make something happen. He has a strong arm.
