It all seemed to start with the UVA game when their no-name QB looked like a Heisman trophy winner. Then we gave up 28 to FSU, 28 to UNC, faced a Patrick Nix offense, 42 to UGA, 38 to LSU, 27 to Clemson, and now 33 to Miami. Every real offense we are facing is killing us right now.

I hear what you're saying about UVA. No excuses but that was the first bad game they'd played all season. Keep in mind that We had a couple starters out at CB (Word Daniels) and I believe someone else too.

But, FSU...we had a couple key turnovers courtesy of Jaybo and they had a lot of late possesions with little field to work with.

UGA, well what did you expect. They had the number 1 Pick and 1 Rb takin' in the draft. Not to mention a freak in Green.

LSU, dude what game did you watch. When you give them the ball NUMEROUS times (I believe 3 or 4...I was quite drunk in the Club Level) inside your 30 yd line, YOURE GOING TO GIVE UP POINTS.

But this year .... and it seems no one seems to understand ... we're getting beat in the air due to our lack of DL strength. Morgan is getting' doubled a lot and keyed on.

Please present all of the facts before you just start throwing out Final scores.

that's the problem with your's and several other's posts about the DC....you seem to not grasp the game and the circumstances that are leading to these Bull**** posts about Pts scored.

And it's frustrating as hell to everyone else who actually understands the game and why things are happening

I wonder if Tenuta's style wasn't just to compensate. Has he been doing the same slash and burn @ South Bend? I don't know I haven't been paying attention.

In any event, it seems like a return to the blitzkrieg style defense would be appropriate.

Yeah, he is. I don't know if people are happy. ND almost lost to Mich State today. Apparently, the fire Weis crowd is loud again after Michigan.

Mich State should have beat ND. Cousins overthrew a wide open receiver in the end zone then the next play threw a pick to ND. Do you think the Leprechauns paid him off before the game?

The thing I can't figure out is why we don't substitute DL more often earlier in the game. Our guys looked whipped in the first quarter but I can't recall seeing reinforcements being inserted. We need fresh legs in situations like Thursday night and someone needs to recognize that.

Frankly, we don't have anyone to put in.

Keep in mind that although Def Coordinators may change, the overall Defensive Schemes rarely do.

Most games it's determined by the Personnel on the field and it's really a guessing game. The guessing game comes into play when you're figuring out what Def to run based on who's in the game and on the field

This is true. If I remember right we only have 4 DT's who could actually compete at this level.

I've held my peace. I haven't scoured the message boards until just now.

But now I must say that I know for sure that we suck. We suck it hard.

Exhibit A: We allowed 7 first downs in the first half of the Jx State game. Last year, in that same time span, we allowed one....ONE!

Exhibit B: We rushed for 95 yards against the SAME team we lit up last season. Now, you can't tell me that Navy would have done worse. Josh looks like crap running this offense and I'm pretty sure we'll never be an elite team with him at the helm. It kills me to say this, btw.

Exhibit C: We cannot do anything against teams with awesome D-Tackles. We got OWNED 2 weeks in a row and here is my main fear: We'll finally get our lineman in....from what I've heard Coach J got all of the Georgia lineman (OL) he wanted...his top picks; however, Dwyer, Allen, & Co. will be gone by the time those dudes are developed! The only chance we have is if Drummond is as bad arse as advertised.

Basically, I've written off this year. I tried telling everyone on here that our D-Line was crap (Derrick Morgan being the exception...OBVIOUSLY!)...and we are TERRIBLE ...TERRIBLE!!!!! So frustrating and there's no 2 ways about it.

I am one sad, sad Tech fan.

Well, you're entitled to do that but I wouldn't consider yourself a fan.

A TRUE Fan, would never right the season off 3 games into the season. I would hope that others on here would say the same

You're probably better rooting for some other team up the road because I for one don't want you on our side.

There was one thing that you said that definitely fits...."you are Sad, Sad"

Just tellin' it like it is bro. No need to get all teary eyed on my arse. We just ain't that good.

And btw, don't ever call me out as a fan this late in the evening. It pisses me off.

Doesn't matter what it does to you, if you come on a Tech board and tell us you've written off the year you deserve whatever crap people want to give you.

If that statement is high on your list of stupid statements, you haven't read many posts on this board.

That being said, it wasn't one of my most thought-out posts. I had a little bit to drink after the game last night. My main problem is with the defensive scheme overall. With proper coaching, we would've either:
1) had pressure on the qb;
2) had coverage on the wr.

We had neither. And just to add one more thing, we couldn't stop the run either.

What does your son's Red GT sign say on it?

I'm assuming that's your son. Just curious

... I apologize in advance for any grammatical errors Mr. Professor

Oooooh. I better back off of the calling you out. What time would work better for you? That way when I tell you where to stick you "sad, sad fan-manship" (yes I made that up) I won't hit the wrong time slot

Give me a break

We were attempting some stunts and spins, but we never had any forward movement. Our guys would engage the O lineman, spin, engage, spin, engage and be no closer to the QB than they were at the snap. We don't seem to be any of the following: speed rushers, bull/strenght rushers, technique rushers. The Miami offensive line may prove to be exceptional, but I think it was more of a case of us being inept. I hate to add, but also a little timid.

Dave Wommack doesn't know the meaning of the word blitz. Same thing every time...just the four down lineman...and only one of them has the talent to get to the quarterback. If you're not gonna rush more than four, why the hell are all the receivers wide open EVERY time?

+100

There was so many occasions while I was watching that game that I was wondering, "Why the F aren't we blitzing?"

And on the rare occasion he does blitz, he doesn't do a good job of disguising the pressure.
