not matter as much if I told you:

1 - CCG's buyout was through a few donations from various entities

2 - PJ's salary was also subsidized through the same channels (not necessarily the same people)? I am trying to find out the name of the donor here to make sure this is completely factual. I have my guess on who it is

Was there a cartoon devil named after him?

It would matter more and I'd be excited that we have some big donors giving a little love to the athletic side of the house!

purely a guess...but I don't believe it was Taz at all based on recent involvements; but that is purely a guess.

The guy who I think did it....is not as well known.

Would the initials of his first and last name be the same?

I somehwhat assumed that to be the case anyway. The money is not that big of a deal to me, and I welcome it. It says that we're here to play with the big boys.

On another note, what is the buyout we are paying to Navy?

It sounds to me like this decision was made by egos that would not be outbid by Duke SMU or Navy. It might work out but only time will tell. If it does not work I hope those folks are willing to buyout the contract if that time comes. I hope it doesn't.

For now lets move on and root for the Jackets. We will look commited to football ion the national media so lets use that tour advantage.

Positives include
1. I guess we're keeping Giff which is good.
2. Not likely to have the NFL calling on him:laugher:

Its water under the bridge now, 33.

The coaching search is over.

And I don't care if we had to collect cans and bottles to get the money.

The fact that the 'gold' blood backed up their power play against one candidate with enough money to bring in the guy they thought would be better for Tech is a real relief!! complaining is one thing, getting your wallet out and paying for something else to happen is much more significant, and although i would never want a Lowder, a little 'swing' in the club could go a long way..

agreed...just trying to reduce the complaining about his high salary; b/c I think much of the root of the concern is based in our GTAA not being able to afford it.

33, I posted this on another thread, but it's been overlooked and you seem to be paying more attention to this thread.

My question was regarding all of the rubber chicken circuit activities for HCs and the salary that they're paid for doing them. Does that money get paid by the AA (and donors) or by the money that's actually generated by those activities? I'd never really thought about this before, and I thought about it when I was wondering what PJs base salary is and what the compensation for the other stuff might be.

And isn't it entertaining to speculate on how all that went down and just maybe who's really running things . . .

oh...I see your question. In other words is all the 2.3 paid for by the AA (which includes revenue from donations/ticket sales) or is like 1.5 million paid for by the AA, the other .8 paid for by ISP and other avenues.

is that the question?

If that is the question; depends on the contract. In CCG's contract, he was paid by ISP directly for around 400k a year. He also was paid 200k a year by AT fund.

so 600k of his salary, was through ISP and AT fund (which is more the donations side so it is the AA)

I dont know what PJ's is. Since we are still under ISP contract, I would assume it is still 400k a year for that portion (leaving 1.9million in balance). How that is broken up I don't know.

not speculation really. I know 1 and 2 happened. 2 I won't come out and say I am 100% sure until I get the name of the donor and run that to ground.

Thanks. That was basically my question - I realize all the money comes through the AA in some way shape or form, but I was curious as to how much was direct from the AA salary, and that gives me a good idea of how it could be divided.

I didn't mean in any way to imply that I questioned whether it happened - I do believe you!

What I have going through my mind are the possible scenarios of these donors approaching DRad (or however it happened), the time line and the subsequent conversations throughout the firing and hiring. It just makes one wonder. I hope that makes more sense!

right gotcha....remember...the CCG buyout money (part of it was there for years as reserve) the other part was given middway through this season. So that was done and in the bank early.

the second half of this equation was PJ's salary. That formula had to have happened in the past 2 weeks...ie; you hire PJ; lets see what his demands are vs what we can afford; and I like him enough me and a few others may help!!!

Again, I want to try to find out who....before I completely am sure.

It mans gT was not in a financial crisis and the Tech Fund was useless and hurt GT. If the big guys are going to carry 98% of the load then do away with the Tech fund and build a broader base. It's inconistent with every decision Drad has made. My guess is his eyes are now wise opena dn he is outta here.

I am glad though that we will not go into debt because of the decisions today.

I'm pretty sure the big donor(s) live in Vinings or at leats have offices there.

what's Dewberry's take on all of this? who did he want?
