Clempson crush ND with the freshman quarterback eliminating the Irish from playoff consideration--OR ND ekes out a close one, giving Clempsen a loss and an uphill road back to the final four--OR ND smashes the Tigers, opening the door for UGA?

Normally I would say ND eking out a close one over Clemson would give the ACC two shots at the playoff, except ND is not an ACC team. So öööö ND.

Also, I don’t think any of that is relevant to UGA. If the Dwags beat Bama in the SECCG, they’re in. If they don’t, they’re not.

Do not want ND to have a shot at an ACC title.
I feel the same way, UNLESS it gets them to join permanently after experiencing the benefits/exposure. Then I would congratulate choir-boy Swofford for masterfully honeydicking them on his way out the door.

Clemson and ND will likely play again in the ACC title game, right?

I think it's better Clemson wins both games since ND hasn't joined the ACC fully.

Another curiosity, is Big10 and Ohio State projected to finish their season before the playoffs? It seems like there wouldn't be enough time...

In theory, a close ND win and then Clemson beats them in the ACCCG has the potential for both to get into the playoff.

In previous years, I think that would mean a windfall for the conf but not sure about this year.

Clemson all day. Notre Dame is second only to U[sic]GA on the permanent hate list.

They're only playing like eight games, with no bye weeks. They'll finish in mid-December.

Is tornado season over already? Can we extend it for one more week?

There was a noticeable difference between how Clemson handled their big lead over us (going for it on 4th down twice with a 50+ lead), vs. how ND handled their (smaller) big lead over us (just kept handing off and grinding it out). The contrast was pretty stark.

But still, the idea of ND winning the ACC without actually committing to the conference is atrocious. Should've used COVID to force them to fish or cut bait, IMHO.
