This is almost as surprising as the call itself....the AJC showing GT love and making a point that ND should have been trying a 31 FG attempt behind 10-7 with a kicker that had missed from 36 and 42 in the gam. The AJC also has an article about how there were over 5,000 people at the ESPN GameDay Crew set and that ESPN was pleasantly surprised at the enthusiasm on campus.

Is this our AJC turning their opinion?...almost like all of the high school kids in the state now that are flocking to GT?

I was furious when that happened. I threw my hat, drink, fiancee and remote. It changed the game entirely.

But, I thought we had many an opportunity after that to get ourselves back in it emotionally and otherwise. Was the penalty the reason we didn't? Perhaps. But I - at least not the morning after - am not going to say that it cost us the game. Football games - save a select few - are not decided on a single play or penalty.

agreed....the goal is to put yourself in a position to not have a bad call or two kill you...and both offense and defense gave up some critical plays at critical times. Conversely, the fact is that many games will be close ones and calls can be critical. That is why good refs keep their flags in the pockets on games like that unless something is obvious.

I am just surprised at the AJC coverage!!!!

I threw something else.

And I got perma-banned from the Hive for mentioning it last night, too.

good arm beej!

I rarely lose it...but I lost it on that one. Plus I had some idiot woman ND fan behind me trying to tell me we were using ACC refs because we were the home team! sheesh.

I watched it last night when I got home and someone actually hit the ref on the leg with a water bottle as he was announcing the call.

I think I may have to start getting the AJC again, getting tired of the high school focus in the Gwinnett paper (I couldn't find a single GT article in Saturday's paper).
