Yep, Congrats Mr. Smith! Now, will the snobbish friggin Hill please pay attention....his SAT was 850....damn...just damn. THWG & Academic Snobs.
 
Yes he had a low SAT... BUT he had an enormous interest in the academic standards and considered the academic challenge in a favourable light instead of being scared of it... the folks that recruited him felt that he would apply himself towards his studies and he has proven them correct...
Unfortunately Mr. Smith is the exception rather than the standard... most SA's tend to have academic blinders on and barely pass the marginal classes that are offered at many other Colleges and Universities... I for one have been proud of most of recruiting policies that Tech applies including the severe scrutiny they place upon being able to succeed at TECH... We have seen TECH teams win in the past again and again... without offering sub standard degrees to the SA's...
Now if they would only place the same standards on the coaches... but that's a different thread all together...

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Please tell me how you know that he is the 'exception'. Have you looked at the SAT scores of our athletes and compared them to their GPA? How would you even have such information. You can't make blanket statements like that without facts.
 
I wasn't speaking of our program I refered to other schools quite clearly in my post... Our program and recruiting policies are different than most schools... Take a look around the NCAA any division except Patriot... SA's are generally low qualifiers and anemic graduates... We wouldn't be having this discussion if it weren't true... I was responding to GoldZ's cry for the 'snobs' to lower their standards on the TECH campus...
