Post-game quote from AJC writer not named Hollis:

"Every loss is a disappointing loss," Tech coach Chan Gailey said. "Some hurt more than others. All losses are bad, and all wins are good. I don't rank them."

Now that attitude ought to shut everyone up.

Thoughts? Discuss. I'm back to my popcorn and soda.

LOL!! Lot of fire and passion in that statement!!

Personally, I do not think he cares much.

I agree with Bizzy, he doesn't seem to care. But, the fellow is making progress. He did say something, which is an improvement. Those west coast reporters probably got a minute with him before he goes underground in Atlanta again.

I don't rank them
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Maybe he doesn't but the UGAG loss certainly was the WORST in history - and that IS rank.

Rank indeed agree 110% about the UGa-lly game or any game for that matter and I do rank them.

Agreed. He pretty much better start keeping score! There will be an exam, Chan.

As far as how to answer the medias questions after pitiful games is concerned, I wouldn't want Chan's job for nothing.

Chan's a little bit different from most competitive types model of a leader/savior but hopefully he has enough character to admit mistakes and make improvements. He's demonstating a type of obstinance in sticking to his guns, which is good, but you also have to be able to be open-minded. If he's our man he'll prove it next year. He's had the whole '02 season for scratch paper to figure it out on.

His comments are sheer nonsense because he just doesn't get it! I went to a couple of events before the season started with him as the speaker and I had great concern then about him being our coach. There was something missing beyond his football expertise!

Some people are just meant to be Head Coaches, this IS NOT ONE OF THEM!

MsTech, I agree with you point about "something missing". Even when he was announced as being the new coach, there was as little enthusiasm as I have ever seen. There has been absolutely no "buzz" around this program - as if it was dead.

He just does not have a personality that lends itself to coaching kids or speaking or anything.

I know from his history that his playcalling is the most boring and conservative that there is. I wonder what DB saw that made him decide Chan is the man after a 15 min. chat.

Gailey's inability to communicate effectively and consistently with his staff and players leads to frustration and hurts the team. His unwillingness socialize with the media and his coaching colleagues will cost us much needed exposure and opportunities to upgrade our staff. Gailey asks instead of demanding that people take care of their responsibilities.

We would be much better off rolling the dice on a good young coach with potential than resigning ourselves to a slow, sure demise.
